This shot is on Team ICO's recruitment pageGranted, it doesn't show much, but any scrap of Team ICO news is great news if you ask me. :D

hmmm saw that screen somewhere before... I'm sure of it. Anyways, I'm so excited about any game team ico makes and this time, they'll make 2 games!!!! *faintz*

I agree that this screenshot seems strangely familiar, maybe its a deja vu thing. As to the next Team Ico game, its funny that just yesterday I was talking to my flatmates while one of them experienced the awesomeness that is Shadow of the Colossus for the first time, how I couldn't wait to see what they could do on next generation hardware. Should be amazing!
Cool, but please less Ico and more SotC.dvader654
For me its the opposite; I liked Ico more.
Now, if they could make a game with Shadow's Boss Battles and Ico's puzzles/Exploration....
Cool, but please less Ico and more SotC.dvader654The opposite for sure. Ico to me had far more depth and feeling to it then the shallow shell that was SOTC.
So I guess with that you could say I'm 50/50 about the next title at the moment :P

Someone hasn't played sotc here...
Ok so that you know, sotc shows depth and feelings through game-play just as how Ico does.
I look at that, and for some reason my brain keeps bringing up Pan's Labyrinth.
Can't wait to see what they've cooked up.
Shadow of the colossus seemed "shallow" to those who didn't recognise that the game was purposefully lacking in back-story and characters to suit the theme of the game. For example outside of Colossi battles there isn't any music and no other characters to accentuate the theme of loneliness and the beauty of the land that Wander is traversing whilst you hear the sounds of waterfalls and natural wildlife around you.
Consider factors such as these when looking at artistic games such as Sotc, Okami and others before you declare it "empty" or "shallow", nothing is there for no reason or rather nothing is there for a reason, whichever way you like it.

nice post
Sort of off topic, but I just watched that "Reign Over Me" flick last week, and all Adam Sandler's character did the whole movie was play Shadow of the Colossus.
I love the game and all, but I was like: "Dude! Its taking you six months to get through a six hour game????"
Its an alright film, but boy does it drag on and on and on.
And like Blackley - I'm seeing a bit of "Pan's Labrinth" in that screenshot.

I wanted to quote the guy before you... while I haven't seen reign on me butthis game definitly doesn't take 6 months to beat xD I'm on my 3rd time through it and trying to bear it on HTA and the 3rd colossi is showing me how life can be a b sometimes :( but it doesn't require 6 months!
Whichever game this new title turns out to be more like, i'm sure the ICO team will make an excellent job of it given their past record. I'll be eagerly awaiting more information soon.... i hope.

No Ico is a shallow shallow game gameplay wise. Boring puzzles, boring combat, and a game that is like 4 hours long. I will never understand Ico love, yes it has a cute story and interesting looking environments but that does not make a game great.
SotC is a full fleshed out game with incredible boss fights, great platforming and even has great unlockables when the game is over.
So yeah I like one over the other by a lot. And now this topic will go on for a long long time.
I'll take it as you don't have a soft spot then :P Ico was great... it still plays great and feels great.

No I bought Ico a month before SotC to get ready for it. I enjoyed it a bit but didn't get the super love it gets. SotC though had me engrossed from beginning to end. As for Ico having more depth do you mean for the story cause you cannot mean gameplay. There is only one way to play the game, one way to solve puzzles, one way to fight off the shadow creatures, you play it once thats it there is nothing more. SotC on the other hand you can come up with a bunch of ways to take down the colossi, there are multilple difficulty levels, there are time attacks, and there is a depth to the whole game which allows actual gameplay skill to come into play. dvader654

Yeah I know I am, I am a definite gameplay first guy so thats where my negativity comes from. Its the whole endless story vs. gameplay debate, I think Ico is clearly on the story side.
Do you like silent hill games?

Hey there Arath. Haven't seen you in along time! But yeah, anything comming from TeamICO is bound to be good. But I am still sticking to my original theory that the game will have something to do with flying. But we'll see...[QUOTE="gamingqueen"][QUOTE="dvader654"][QUOTE="foxhound_fox"][QUOTE="dvader654"]No I bought Ico a month before SotC to get ready for it. Part 1 I loved, 2 was eh, 3 was great, 4 was a disaster.
Its a good secondary horror series to RE but I believe RE is way better.
Now you've done it vader, you've turned Ragnaars simple screenshot thread into an Ico vs SOTC + Resident Evil vs Silent Hill thread! o_0 quick everyone! Metal Gear Solid Or Splinter Cell?!?! (btw us cool dudes know that Resident Evil stomps Silent Hill anyday of the Week, and SOTC is a much much better game than Ico!) Wooo! *high fives*[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"][QUOTE="dvader654"]No I bought Ico a month before SotC to get ready for it. I enjoyed it a bit but didn't get the super love it gets. No. Ico wasn't the first game to do it, but it was the first game to nail the whole work with/protect a partner thing that later surfaced in games such as RE4, ZOE2, MGS3 and a bunch of games I am probably forgetting. And Ico's puzzles (which didn't require keys or box pushing, just thinking) were really great stuff (God of War's puzzle design is modelled on Ico's). And the level design was superb (surprisingly, no one on the team had any training as an architect).

Ico would've been much better if it wasn't for that horrible hack n slash combating with the stick. I hated that part with a intense hatred beyond words.
Everything else was fun though.
Ico's most impressive feature was not the level design or the puzzles, but the artistic ****with lighting and shadows. Really masterful. Blew me away when I first saw it.
