... will you be playing through the PS2 versions again? I've already done this back at the beginning of the year when I thought the collection was coming out in March. But, since it's been pushed back to September, I'm going to play through them one more time. The reason for this is I want to make sure the PS2 versions are fresh in my head so that when I play the collection on PS3, I can notice the improvements better.

There's no reason to buy the Ico Collection if you already have a working PS2 with Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

They're both outstanding games, they're works of art that should be experienced by everyone. But because my PS2 still works, I'm not wasting any time or money on the Ico Collection.

I'd much rather spend my money on a game that I haven't played yet.

lol These improvements are purely cosmetic. It's not like it's a remake, it's the same game with just a better framerate and higher res.

I would usually playthrough games before the sequels or remakes come out, but these are just HD versions that PC gamers have been playing through emulators for years.

Anyway, I would just play the game when they come out. Hopefully they are easy plats like the GoW and Sly plats.

Never played the games on PS2 so hopefully I'll get a chance to enjoy it somewhere down the road.

I'm not replaying them in SD (I've beaten SoTC a couple times and Ico several times), but I am really looking forward to playing Ico and SoTC in HD.

If I had the PS2 versions I would sell them now instead of playing them. Having the game fresh on my mind would just lead to getting bored with the collection. Gladly, I only played the demos so far so I'm a little excited for the collection..

I forgot this was being released. I don't own the originals on the PS2, but I might just pick this collection up.

Nope although I have both games on the PS2, I would just like to wait for the remastered edition to playthrough them. One reason is the picture would look terrible on my HD tv if I hooked my PS2 up to it. I will wait for the HD version and the trophies!

I own a ps2 and the games, but I will be buying the collection because they are two of my favorite games, if I hook my ps2 up to my tv (HDTV) it distorts the image horrible because it's an SD system, and I would like to go for the trophies of these two games.

I don't like to play an older version right before a remake. If it's too fresh in my mind it just makes me feel like I'm treading the same ground.

I'm in the same boat right now with Halo: Anniversary. All the vids about it make me want to replay the original, but I want to go into the new version as fresh as I can. Of course I played through Halo's campaign like it was my career back in 2002-2003 so I doubt it could ever truly feel "fresh" again, but you know what I mean.

Better frame rates alone would be reason enough to buy the collection. SoC was unplayable to me. At least now it should feel playable.

Yeah, as much as I loved Shadow of the Colossus, I was always disappointed by its performance. I kept telling myself, "What would the game be like with the power of the PS3?" Now I'll be able to.

the last boss on the PS3 (my 60GB with backwards compatiblity) made me fail the same sectino almost ten times because of the awful framerate. I was fuming by the time i beat him. But thankfully the ending was so special that i forgot all about the framerate issues.

Nope, I wasn't willing to shell out $600 for a PS3. I could always hook up the PS2 to the TV in my sister's room or the living room, but I do not want to invade anyone's space, so I will wait for the HD collection. The games are worth it for the collection; this is the first collection I'm buying by the way. I have the sly triliogy and god of war games on the PS2, but I didn't have the incentive I have with the team ICO games. I own a ps2 and the games, but I will be buying the collection because they are two of my favorite games, if I hook my ps2 up to my tv (HDTV) it distorts the image horrible because it's an SD system, and I would like to go for the trophies of these two games.

Yeah the framerate during that boss fight is horrible, it's borderline unplayable. It will be nice to have solid 30fps for once. :P

i dont buy the HD makeovers of games i already own, but im breaking that rule for the team ico games. i normally replay ico and SotC more often, but ive holding off since they announced the new editions. i want the first play through to have the biggest impact possible (on a controllable level, at least).

Never played the games on PS2, they somehow bypassed me all those years. Even if I could get my hands on copies of the game and a working PS2 I wouldn't play them... saving the experience for that higher resolution.

Like Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, I have purposely not played ICO of SOTC for awhile so that, when these HD collections come out, I can experience those same feelings that I had when I first played the games.

Im getting it mainly because I havent played ICO yet, and I cant stand the frame rate on Colossus. Ive beaten Colossus already but id much rather play on the HD version for a better experience.

i totally agree here. It's not like the improvements to each game are going to really affect how the game is played.

Not really, I didn't find SotC to be that replayable (that is a word, right?) so I'm just going to spoil things for myself if I finish it on my PS2 again. I'm heavily looking forward to ICO though, never played it before. I remember reading somewhere that there might be a demo of The Last Guardian included in the disc too, would be quite awesome if it turns out to be true.

I've only played a little bit of Ico but didn't really care too much for it as I found it kind of boring and really blurry. I'll give it another shot in the HD collection. Mostly I'm getting the collection for Colossus because that game looks very cool but the framerate issues scared me away from the original.
