Forbes magazine just did a "top 10" of next gen games. Do you agree or disagree with their list below.

He's just one of the few freelancers who write for Forbes.

That said, good list. I am surprised they picked f*cking Knack over Titan Fall. Good to see Project Spark in there though.

It's surprising that even though Sony studios outnumber MS studios nearly 3:1, MS has the better lineup for the first by a longshot. Sony really f*cked up by feeding us shitty Indie games.

I love that they're putting a focus on indie games. That's what me sold on the PS4 and why I'm still mostly uninterested in the Xbox One's lineup so far.

I feel the exact same way. I'm a huge fan of the indie scene, this interests me greatly, how open the PS4 is going to be for indies is a great thing!

While AAA's have been boring and punch-pulling indies have been the spectral opposite...unique and hard as nails on many occasions. I've felt more excited about games like Nuclear Throne and Project Zomboid than I have for any "top-tier" game coming out, which is definitely not how I used to feel. Interesting how things work out right?

Either way, I love how the PS4 is going to bring all of it to the table. Top-tiers, exclusives, and indies in one happy home!

Absolutely. Geometry Wars was the best game for the 360 for a looooong time. AAA can come in the form of a $10 game.

And I'm really not feeling the Bone's lineup, either. Forza, okay I will give it that, and I've always been a huge Turn 10 fan and felt that they didn't get the recognition they deserved despite putting out a far superior product to Polyphony. Aside from that? Dead Rising 3 looks okay I guess. The formula is a great one, but the soul felt like it was missing from DR2 when Big Blue (or whatever their name is) took over development. Titanfall isn't a launch game and I couldn't give two shits about it since it's online only. Ryse I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, and the rest are multiplats.

The FIRST game I play on the PS4 will be Resogun.

@Areez: The Witcher 3 and Project Spark I can agree with. Its funny that Knack is on that list, I forgot how many people are dying for that game.

No doubt, Knack looks like a crapper. They should have put Resogun up there instead, now that's an interesting looking game!

Resogun is the game that makes me wish I were getting a PS4 at launch. It looks so good. Definitely one of the first games I'm buying for it.

But yeah -- Geometry Wars is a fantastic example. Big-name games are fine and all, but the downloadable stuff is just as important. And so far, the Xbone doesn't really have much there. I mean, Below and D4 seem cool, but otherwise, I couldn't care less about the system's lineup. None of Microsoft's mainstay franchises interest me at all.

@S0lidSnake:

I was too surprised that Titan Fall was not on the list....

Sony seems to be ahead Ms with its first party development. Its a huge reason why also own a PS3, to play Sony's first party titles.

I will say this: I totally agree with the author of the article about Deep Down. I was SO hyped for that game and then I found out it was an online only FTP game and it simply ceased to exist to me.

The hype for The Order seems to be getting pretty crazy. Game Informer saying it has the best visuals they've yet seen has me wanting to see it in action.

Well, yeah. That's the thing -- all the issues with the Xbone were not limited just to awful pricing decisions and making out of touch comments. There have been articles written that they pissed off a lot of indie developers, and considering what an asset XBLA was to the 360, that's just a travesty.

After they were done doing all those 180s on everything else, MS should have been announcing game after game after game for this thing to reiterate to people why they should still consider buying one, but there's not much being said. It's like everything they had in the pipes for it has been mentioned and there's not anything left. One of the things I most expected to miss when I made the decision to no longer support Microsoft was Live Arcade, but luckily, it looks like Sony is in the same frame of mind Microsoft was in 2005, and they're hellbent on bringing out some amazing indie stuff, and that's music to my ears, it really is.

Nice list. Love the inclusion of Project Spark. As for Knack, I want it to be good, but while the graphics are nice, I haven't seen any indication its as awesome as The Puppeteer or LBP. Unless some gameplay footage wows me in the next month, I'm going to cancel my preorder and wait for the demo (the free camera game will give my kids a way to experience the PS4 if worst comes to worst).

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the only game on that list that interests me. I find it ridiculous that they named games we (and they) haven't seen yet (The Order and Quantum Break).

I can't take any list seriously that includes Knack and ignores Titanfall.

Good list, I'm glad it ignores Titanfall, as it really is nothing more than a fast paced online only shooter with mechs. Most importantly, the list didn't forget The Division, which had me very interested when they first showed it. I don't get all the hate for Knack, it's like nobody remembers how fun a platformer can be. As for The Witcher, I couldn't stand the combat in the second game so hopefully they greatly improve it and make it less clunky feeling (it may work fine for PC gaming but for consoles it was awkward).

I don't have a problem with platformers. My worry is that Knack doesn't appear to be as inventive or charming as LBP, The Puppeteer or Rayman. I really hope I'm wrong because it boasts a two player co-op mode (inspired by The Puppeteer, which is made by the same studio) and I like playing through games with my kids.

I frown at the lack of Killer Instinct. :(

Good list though, for the most part. Not sure about the inclusion of Quantum Break, considering how little of the game we've actually seen. Love that Infamous: Second Son is on there, if that game was a launch title, I'd be getting the PS4 first instead of the Xbone. As is, that's the game that makes me sure I'll have a PS4 as well not too far into 2014. Love, love, love that game. That and all the yummy indie games. (hell with you S0lid, those games look great!)

Titan Fall is more than just a face paced online shooter. The jetpacks and double jumping completely change the way shooters are played.

And the parkour, don't forget the parkour!

It really does seem to have a grand focus on mobility. Which is one of the reasons I'll pick up a copy when it comes out. Normally I'd never consider a game with no single player options, but TitanFall looks worth checking out.

As for the list... yeah sounds good enough. I would have picked Forza Motorsport 5 over The Crew, but Forza has been my go-to racer since the original game launched on the old Xbox. So, you know, personal preference and shiz. For what it's worth, The Crew does look interesting and I'll probably pick it up during the post launch but pre-Destiny/TitanFall/InFamous lull.

Like many have said lol @ Knack. At least the Division and Witcher 3 are on there. I'm kinda surprised at no racing game and the lack of Destiny. I'm still not sold on Destiny but if it accomplishes what it's supposed to, it will be a HUGE step for games. Heck, we already know it's getting two sequels so more than any game ever it has to be successful.

The opening paragraph said that he wasn't adding games that were being released for current gen systems; hence no Destiny.

And The Crew was on the list. It's an open world racer.

The article states he's only looking at games that are out at launch to 2014 and are not on current gen consoles. So that's why Titanfall isn't on the list

I think TitanFall is going to be one of those games that looks good in controlled conditions, but when you have an entire map full of people jumping around like fleas, it's going to be something else entirely. I remember that being one of the things I hated about Quake back in the day; all the damn jumping, and TitanFall has that shit beat like a hundred times over. They need to put severe limits on the mobility of the players, the maps'll be a complete mess if they don't implement some kind of meter to limit it drastically.

They have done a really good job of making sure you dont have a full map of people with jetpacks. Everyone in the game gets a mech so you almost always have 50% of the people in mechs and others in a jetpack. This is coming from their own beta testing stats.

But if you dont believe them I can tell you that I have played it and it does not have that problem. The mechs do a great job of attracting all the action and since it's made by CoD guys, it's extremely easy and fast to kill people who are in the middle of double jumping thanks to the aim assist and low health. That and you have an extra bunch of A.I NPCs you can kill so it never feels like a game where you are chasing a bunch of dudes in a jetpack.

It's easily the most refreshing next gen game I played at EB Expo last month. And the mobility was a huge part of it. Nothing else even came close.
