Hi Folks,

I feel like venting. I've noticed that the overwhelming majority of video games coming out these days are FPS. Quite frankly I enjoy them but I don't love them. I've been playing games for 22 years now and I don't like what I am seeing in the works. There are many good games coming as well, but the FPS category is spreading like a virus. I am looking forward to some of the FPS games coming out for the most part the army boy vs. million aliens theme is driving through dullsville right now.

Anyone else concerned about this? There will always be a few decent non-FPS games here and there but being a 360 owner it seems like I will get some fun every four months instead of on a month to month basis. Looking forward to picking up another console but concerned about the FPS overload. I would love to see the game developer community trying some adventure games especially on the 360. I am quite bored of seeing nothing but FPS games on the calendar for the 360. Enough, try something else.

Is FPS the only genre you like? Its definately been stale for awhile. Shooters are arguably the most popular genre (here in US anyway) so publishers and developers can get away with pumping out crappy products year after year because they know they will sell. If no one bought them it wouldnt be a problem. I dont play a whole lot of shooters anyway, they were never my favorite genre, so I dont mind if there is only a handful of decent ones coming out each year, since I wouldnt be buying anymore than that anyway.

Sorry if I didnt explain myself. I am not a big fan of FPS. I enjoy it a bit but I dont love it. I was very happy with my PS2 as there was such a huge depth of games (ICO, Shadow, God of War, Katamari, FF10, Psychonauts, and on and on and on). So far being a 360 owner I am very frustrated of seeing nothing but FPS. I don't see myself support the 360 sector as I am already bored with its FPS line up. It seems like nothing but FPS is coming out for it (yes I know there are exceptions but they are so rare).

I understand what you are saying... but have you tried the other things that the Xbox 360 offers? I'm sure there are games besides FPS... Try'em out, if you can. And you could possibly go for some Xbox games and play it on your 360... KOTOR comes to mind when you mentioned depth, or maybe Morrowind if you haven't played it on PC (I love Morrowind on Xbox)...

You always have options, I would say... there are plenty of games out, from what I've seen.

yes the 360 does have its FPS lineup but there is other games you can get. Just do some research, Oblivion is an open-ended RPG it is FP but also TP. Great game. Lost Planet is not an FPS.
