someone tell me y FPS are so great to the mass public, they get rated so high on average and it seems like whatever happens with them they get super ratings. The game play to me in a FPS is all the same its jus a hand on the screen with a gun, the only things that changes on these games are the location and the weapons but are all parallel with each other somehow, someway. the only one i ever felt was COD4 even then it is short lived with me i played other ones and i jus dont understand y so many ppl go crazy over these type of games. Is it because u can pull the trigger in a game or what? Im good at them but i jus don't have any fun. I want to hear for my own anaylsis y these games are so appealing to ppl, and hopefully u guys can list some reason for a gamer who is obviously in the minority.
Well same things can be said about alot of games or whole genres. MMOs have not changed in years its always the same thing over and over again. Yet people find it entertaining. To me the good FPS games are exciting, although I do not think of CoD4 as a good game. The single player is dull but multiplayer is awesome. Its all a matter of taste and there is not point in discussing that.
FPS games utilize the latest and greatest technology and software innovations. They are "first-person" so you can say the immersion value of FPS games is far greater than any other genre. There is so much more you can do than just run-and-gun, point-and-shoot. Take a look at GTA IV, its basically an FPS-RPG.
I really don't understand, since like 2002 FPS got really big for some odd reason, and that's all i see nowadays. Don't know why they blew up like they did.
Thats not a problem with the FPS games man, its a problem with you........You just don't seem fit into the FPS.......I am an FPS freak and only because of the FPS Genre I'm here @ Gamespot...........The thing that I like about FPS Genre is the level of immersion & the reality & the feeling of being there.........If you are bored of FPS Games.......don't lose heart..........Play Bioshock.......its an altogether different FPS ( the most fun )
I don't see any FPS Games getting high scores.......RPG & PS2 Sports series were the ones getting overrrated Scores..........And if u still feel that FPS games are getting more scores....well....thats because more & more like the genre.........
Its just personal interest bro.. I love FPS,action adventure and RPG to an extent but i hate stratergy games to core..It doesn mean i can just critisize the stratergy genre saying its dumb.. Many ppl find stratergy games really addictive.. So its all personal interests thats it..And it has nothing to do with ones interest towards violence or the eagerness to pull a trigger.. M a FPS freak it doesn mean tomo i will take a gun to the streets n gun down the ppl around me..:P
