Franchises that would force you to buy current gen consoles

Are there any franchises that would make you stay up to date with the console generation, notably for franchises that improve with the state of the art power of current consoles? 

Good examples would be star wars battle front and Virtua Fighter.  Both franchises only benefit from new tech, because in order to remain true to the franchise, their gameplay mostly must stay true to the original concepts, while upgrades to graphics and physics etc. make the experience better.

Fallout

I bought a PlayStation because of Twisted Metal. I bought a PSP because of Twisted Metal: Head-On I bought a PS3 because of MotorStorm, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Metal Gear Solid 4, but also in anticipation of Twisted Metal on there. However, TM on PS3 ended up being one of my least favorite of the series.

So, if there were an announcement of a new PS4-exclusive Twisted Metal game, it would be interesting, but I would now have to 'wait and see' before I'd buy the system for one. I probably would buy a Vita, though, if there were some kind of new TM game created for it, as the price would be much more reasonable to get my 'fix'.

Metroid, SMT, Virtua Fighter, Smash Bros., Fire Emblem.

Half-life and other multiplats I would get a PC.

A new Dead Rising game, oh wait...

I will never buy an X1 even if Shenmue III is announced as an exclusive for it. The total disrespect for the consumer that was shown by MS until they chaged their policies was unforgivable and I am not supporting them or their consoles ever, period. But if Shenmue III came out for the PS4 or WiiU I would be tempted although I am considering bowing out of gaming no matter what after this gen is over.

Of course not, in fact I will probably be more into legacy gaming than ever because I wont have newer games to play anymore. I will pick up a 360 some day, but used in order to prevent any of my money going directly to MS. I heard that these changes they are making to the X1 are firmware updates only sonce the actual hardware is made to enforce their original, anti-consumerist policies. This concerns me seeing how once the X1 user base is large enough I can see MS gradually starting to implement their BS policies they tried to pass by us in the first place.

A new "Godzilla" game... I would like to see that... I liked the fighting games on last-gen systems, but I would appreciate a change from that to something a bit like "Peter Jackson's KING KONG"... They could have vantages from both sides, like they did in "Kong". I thought that game did a pretty good job of splitting up the FPS with controlling the ape. "Gran Turismo" has been a system-seller in my house... That's coming on current-gen stuff though, so I won't really need a PS4 for quite awhile, I think.

Well I already bought a Wii U for Pikmin 3 and intend to buy a PS4 for inFAMOUS Second Son. In all honesty though, most of the games that a absolutely love do not require a lot of tech. My favourite franchises are 2D platformers and 2D fighters so...

I have the current gen consoles, but anyway maybe these:

• God of War
• The Last of Us
