Does anyone really rent games anymore? from places like Blockbuster or (Canada)Rogers Video? I went in today to see what was there, first time in like 3 years, and there was not much at all. the "new releases" were like a year old...so i'm just wondering if there are people who still rent games?

I would if I still lived in the bloody city with a blockbuster. I used to love renting games, saved alot of money on what I would/wouldn't buy. Renting games would be even better nowadays compared to the N64 days since your save files aren't getting deleted by some 12 year old who rents it next LOL. Tons of games this gen haven't been keepers for me either, I've sold off most of my stuff The last time I rented was the gamecube era, but I haven't got a chance to since then. If I could I would still be renting.

I have not rented a video game since I started working. I prefer to own and build up a collection :)

Haven't for years. Usually, I'll just buy a game when it drops down in price. Plus, some of the prices Blockbuster and other stores ask for to rent a game for X days is extremely high.

I'd rent but probably not from Blockbuster. If i did would prob go with gamefly. Don't like the idea of only having a week with it. Though thats usually all the time you need these days...

I haven't rented a game in a long time. Now I mostly just buy them. But, if a game is very short and i know I will really never play it again, then I do tend to rent it, but that is just very rare.

I know people (like myself) who rent from Gamefly and other online services for games, but not so much retail renting.

Lol I'm so behind the times, gamefly is that mail away thing right? I always remembered thinking that was such an awkward way to rent a game when I first heard about, but it must have caught on. Arg, really wish I could have been renting games all this time, would've saved sooo much money as (I'm just repeating myself here) sold tons of crap that I realized weren't worth even playing through again (bioshock teehee retail price ftl). Ah well

I'm in Canada, and there isn't any Gamefly type service here and I don't think Gamefly delivers into Canada, so I'm stuck with retail stores. There are some games that you can beat in a week and I want to play them, but i dont want to spend 60$ on them, but these stores have no selection, not current anyway, they might get games like Splinter Cell Conviction in a few months...but by then I've lost interest.

I use to rent when I was a child and couldn't afford much. Now I buy because I work. I like having a collection too.

I rent games very rarely now. I rent when I wanna try a game out before buying, and no demo is available, or if I just don't think it's worth the buy price, and think i can beat it in a week. Both are very rare.

Actually, most of the time I do rent a game, I miss it after I return it, and buy it later lol. only a few times that didn't happen. It's usually way later, after the price went down a lot. I think the only game I rented this gen is Tatsunoko vs Capcom, but this I know I will not buy, I just don't like it at all.

The only times I rented out games were when N64 and Dreamcast came out. I just use PS Store for my demos.

I think with all the online capabilities of rentals, that retail renting is taking a large hit. That's why Blockbuster lost out to Netflix and I'm sure that it won't be long before game rentals go the same way with Gamefly. Sucks for the people that still rent games though, because it does happen..

I never rent games. I just buy them new with the help of price comparison websites.

I still rent games from time to time. The nearest Block Buster usually has games that have just come out like a week or 2 ago.
