TBH I would bypass the official ones.
If you live in the UK GAME sell cards with 2000ish blocks on. I found a 251 and a 59 together wasn't enough for me (around 25-30 games I've owned in all) and these cards are pretty cheap and easy to find due to a resurgence in demand for GC pepherals spurred on by the Wii. In my experience this card is very stable, I've never had issues with it unlike the junk that 4Gamers will sell you. The only drawback is it will stick out an extra cm from the console, no big deal really for all the save space you'll ever need and then some.
I got an official Nintendo 1019 card for $20 new just 2 months ago on Amazon. I would REALLLY reccomend a 1st party one, stay away from all those cheap 3rd party cards. I've heard some really bad stories about data corruption.bionisam
A good friend of mine lost all of his save data TWICE using a 3rd party card. I told him when he got it that it wasn't worth it, but he didn't listen.
Go with the biggest 1st party card you can find!
do the gamecube 1st party memory cards (i have the black one) ever stop functioning, like a battery that dies becuz i would hate for my memory to get deletedThe_Nintendawg
I have those memory cards and they still hold my data. The 1st party ones uses flash memory (which is more reliable) instead of batteries to hold save data. As long as you take good care of them they should last a long time.;)
