Too bad we never saw anything of this

Looks cool and finding out about Darth Maul's origins could have been interesting. Lets hope this or 343 (is that the game name, the one where you play as a Bounty Hunter) get picked up, I really want a good new Star Wars game (new as in new release, not specifically new Star Wars trilogy related).
That and 1313 shouldnt have been canned...seriously I need a Star Wars game and both of them looked AMAZING.

First Assault was canned aswell. 3 Games that looked amazing

FA looked alright, but 1313 and now the Darth Maul game looked amazing, specially 1313.

I agree, but never saw the potential of those games coming to life :(
Looks ok. The lightsaber looks weak though. Striking a stormtrooper a dozen times with a lightsaber is half the reason I hated The Force Unleashed.

that was just concept stuff
That could've been pretty slick. Darth Maul was ever the bitchin'-est sith lord in the Star Wars fiction.
@Garfield360UK: There was a kids' book(for ages 13-15, I guess) one time that explored the origins of Darth Maul. I forget what it was called, but I remember thinking it was pretty good(I was 20 or so when I read it). It told a good story about Sidious' training methods. I forget what it's called, but a fairly simple Google search ought to turn it up.

Concept or not it still looks very similar to Force Unleashed, which sucked.
Why is Star Wars getting no love this generation =(
Cause Lucas is an idiot and sold his legacy to Disney, which canned every Star Wars project on the table.
Goddamnit, that would have been a badass game. Why the hell did it get cancelled?! I'd love to fly around the screen and chop dudes up with dual Lightsaber.

The Clone Wars cartoon dove into his backstory a bit.
Would love to see a Star Wars game where your lightsaber actually cuts through stuff. Walls, AT-ATs, stormtroopers, everything. They could just take the gameplay from Metal Gear Rising and put a Star Wars coat of paint on it, and that would be good enough.
@1PMrFister: Yeah I'd love to see that, too, but I guess they don't do that for the sake of actually having a difficulty.
****!! I'm reading the GI article on the subject and I just found out this game we being made by one if my twotwo favorite lesser-known developers- Red Fly Studio. God DAMN but they can't catch a break!

They mostly did Wii/DS ports, a couple of iOS/Android games and the massively panned Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. I doubt your taste in games.
@iamllamapie: Go ahead and doubt all you want- just because I make up my own mind rather than being a point score worshipping lemming.
THOR: God of Thunder(3DS) was a well built classic beat em up, the Wii version of the Force Unleashed 2 scored higher than it's HD counterparts(only time I ever heard of that happening for a WiiS360 multiplat), and TMNT: OotS was an excellent modern beat em up with the most satisfying variation on Arkham combat to date.
The only upside to this story I can find is that if you look at the timing, if this project had gone forward, TMNT:OotS would likely have either been made by a different outfit or not at all.
Not a "score worshipping lemming". I think, from a technical point they aren't impressive. The 3DS Thor was OK, and I haven't played and SW:FU. I have, however played TMNT:OotS and is was horrible. A mess technically although the aesthetics were great. Until they make a technically good game with great aesthetics like TMNT, they will be a lesser known dev that only does ports and mobile games for the most part.
@iamllamapie: If you don't understand the intricacies of the combat system in Out of the Shadows, that's your failing and not the game's. The only thing about the combat that really needs improvement is that the camera doesn't track as effectively as Arkham City's.
