As some of you may know, next week (At the time of this thread created) is the world release MS upgrade console that is Xbox One X. Not going into details, just wanting to see what the general Game Discussion thinks about X1X.
Me, I'm not getting it. I have a high-end PC for all my gaming needs, I already have PS4/Nintendo Switch and still so much to do.
If games I want with native mouse and keyboard support come out for it? Sure. But, I'm skeptical for the moment, considering both the Switch and PS4 have very few of the games I like.
I wish the best of luck to Microsoft, though; more games on Xbox = more games on PC, even if I have to buy it through Windows store. So the better it sells, the better for us all.

Exclusivity is killing the market. It used to be that each console had their games, and they tried to get a lot of games on the console, and a lot of good games, OK games, bad games....whatever there was more choice.
Now it seems about getting a handful of "AAA" (ugh, WTF does that even mean any more?) exclusives, big-budget blockbusters...and then coasting. Are customers not buying as many games as they used to? I feel they are buying more.
i watched all the e3 stuff and all i saw was a console that would give me the superior multiplat experience until the ps5 launches. that's not enough to give me the twitch in the trousers that a new console needs to get me to part with my hard earned.
i picked up an xbox one to play gears 4, halo 5 and a few other bits this gen but i really didn't take to them. the magic of those titles from the 360 era just wasn't there and i don't see many new strong sp titles ready to take over from the old guard now or in the not too distant future. i have no manufacturer bias so happy to be proven wrong, i'll go where the good games are
Waiting for a better Switch model so I can grab all the killer games from recent Nintendo, and may make some spec upgrades on my P.C. later next year if the port of Monster Hunter: World requires it.
Otherwise, have no plans on investing in anything except the games I'm after on my three platforms.
Have nothing against the One consoles, just find little reason to grab any myself. Scalebound for me, was the deal breaker and was a big reason I would have invested in a modern Xbox.
Yeah I’ll definitely be getting one to replace my current Xbox One. I won’t be getting it right away though as I want to get a Switch first along with a few games for it.
Scorpio edition through Amazon when pre-orders went live! I’m stoked and look forward to jumping back on Xbox and gaming with my buddies again; been a while...lol.
I was going to pick up Forza Motorsports 7 but after reading through some reviews, I might pass and grab Need for Speed instead for my racing fix.

Same......except I use it only for Blizzard games and I don't have a PS4. Anything out now or in the near future will work fine on my launch X1 and nothing MS has said regarding the upgraded console has made me jump on the wagon.
I will not, and I'm honestly not sure how many people will. While the idea of the "worlds most powerful console" is intriguing, the idea that it would be a major seller with NO exclusive games is kind of mind-boggling. Especially when the visuals only take games so far.
I don't think third parties have enough incentive to truly optimize a game for these half-step consoles when the user base is so much larger for the standard editions. You might get some better textures and a little bit more screen clutter, but they'll still be current gen games in every way that counts. Reminds me too much of the 32x. Ignored the Pro and I still say anything microsoft is irrelevant if you have a working gaming PC. I mean, I have an X1, but I haven't turned it on since the last Tomb Raider, whenever that was.
No way. But I might consider the ps5 down the track if it has backwards compatibility. That way I could catch up on some exclusives and also get a powerful system with a nice controller.
Nope. I want to buy an Xbox one because X1X is out of my budget. I love to play games, and I'm very passionate about games. Can anyone suggest me a good ethernet cable for internet connectivity? I know wired connectivity is suitable for high-end connectivity. So, please help me. @http://www.internetgeeks.org/tech/computer/best-ethernet-cable-xbox-one/
At this point, you may as well simply buy a PC.... I mean they are literally starting to upgrade the boxes every X years. May as well buy a box that also allows you to do your taxes on it.
Nahhh, don't feel it's enough of an upgrade to warrant parting with the cash. Also, have plenty of life left in my current Xbox (I also like the fact it's a release day just like all my other consoles), plus I have my PS4 catalogue to work through too. I think I'd also need to invest in an 4k TV too? My 50" 3D LED Samsung is still working excellently too, so really getting an Xbox One X is gonna cost me a fortune. So nope.
I have a Switch, PC and Xbox 1S. Absolutely no need for a 1X. The only reason I have the 1S is for the native 4k Blu-ray player since I have a 4k TV. I haven't played a single game on the 1S.
Yes definitely. Placing my original Xbox One in my bedroom, while the X will be kept in the living room. It'll be my main platform, as aways with all Xbox consoles.
I currently have no plans to get the Xbox One X. I already have a PC, a PS4 Pro and an Xbox 360, which largely cover my gaming needs, and it would be pointless (and expensive) replacing part of my game library in favour of Xbox One X titles (or enhanced titles) at this late stage. The Xbox One exclusives also do not appeal to me, which doesn't help.
I do not have a 4K TV and no plans to get one, because most are too large for my needs. They seem to start at 40 inches and ramp up significantly from there. A 32 inch TV (which also serves as my PC screen) is more than adequate for me and, according to my research, I would probably not see the benefit of 4K due to the distance I sit from the screen, so the higher resolution on offer is not enough to draw me. I only got the PS4 Pro purely for increased performance at 1080p for some games, or I would have stuck with the ordinary PS4.
Perhaps if 4K becomes the industry standard in the near future I'll be forced to upgrade everything, but until then I'm happy with what I have.
@davillain-: I'm not. As a matter of fact, I would like to get rid of my Xbox One S. It has been gathering dust for months. I just bought a Steam Link for the living room gaming itch.

I'm in the same boat as you are, but I still have my launch PS4 and never care about Pro's offering. I don't care for 4K or HDR for that matter, not yet at least. When those two become mainstream in the next few more years, I'll move to 4K or HDR.
My PC/PS4/Nintendo Switch is all I need and if I want to play few MS exclusive games, my PC can do that now without the need of an Xbox One console.

I'm done with consoles.
Done with gaming consoles, I might be right there next to ya if Sony & Nintendo didn't offer any good exclusive game to play on.
I see no reason whatsoever for buying it. I still got piles of current gen games to play through, enough to keep me happy for coupla years. So, in two years I might look around and get a new console, not before that.
But there are quite lot of gamers who simply must have the latest console, usually because they want to show it off on their youtube channel. Bit sad, but there you go.

I was considering getting the Xbox One X as a trade in for my Xbox one S , but to be fair i have zero idea what i would need it for, i just recently updated my pc with sli 1080TI so most games is running perfect on my PC.
So the answer is pretty much nope not getting it right now.
