Tekki. Reviewers gave it low scores, at least... Then again, they're the same people who applaud Ikaruga for being innovative. Innovation my ass.

The only one that comes to mind is Oblivion. It gets more crap than most games do, but I like it.

Army Men: Sarge's Heroes

Just look at the review scores it's accumulated. Still, I liked playing it, especially its multiplayer mode.

Two Worlds. Took me two trys before I liked it and the more I played the more I enjoyed it. Helped that they patched some of the glitches to make it at lest playable.

Perfect Dark Zero. That game was ridiculed to hell and back by folks and I still greatly enjoyed it. It wasn't quite deserving of that 9.0 score and it really doesn't feel like a proper Perfect Dark game (it pales in comparison to the original) but it's still plenty of fun.

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness. Amazing Castlevania games, a lot of potential to be better but what they offered was fantastic. The soundtrack in Lament of Innocence is utterly amazing, it is on par with Yamane's work in Symphony of the Night and I would argue that since it meshes better with the environment, it is overall, a better soundtrack (not basing this argument on nostalgic value of course).

Curse of Darkness has three major gameplay elements that don't exist in any other Castlevania (that I know of) and should. Innocent Devils, stealing and combining. The Innocent Devils are like taking the familiars from the rest of the series, tossing in a little Pokemon and making something outstanding. There are six types, four of which have quad-tiered evolution trees. All the different types have different powers and abilities that add way more depth to the gameplay. To evolveyour I.D.'s you have to kill enemies and get them to drop evolution crystals. There are five different types of crystal, each associated with a single weapon type, sword, axe, spear, fist and special. Certain I.D. forms require different amounts of certain crystals to evolve, making strategizing your evolution all that more in-depth. On top of all that, you can raise multiple generations of I.D.'s and increase their power over time, turning them into massive tanks to soak any damage thrown at them (Battle type especially)

The stealing is something to behold. Like every other CV game in the series, the enemies have drops, some common and some rare. But in Curse of Darkness it is taken a step further. Not only do they have drops but items that you can "steal" from them, by locking on and pressing a button when they open their defence and do a set move, some easy, some ridiculously impossible (stealing from Death for instance). And combining, like Vagrant Story, you can combine elements together to make weapons, then combine other weapons and elements together to make better weapons. It just takes the Metroivania/Castleroid formula and makes it 10x better.

The games are not masterpieces, no, nowhere close, they still have a ways to go before they are the polished gems that are Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood... but they are diamonds in the rough, massive diamonds in the rough that with the right polishing, could be the best Castlevania games of all time. 3D Castlevania isn't a problem, its doing 3D Castlevania well. I personally do hope that Iga's next game on the 360/PS3 is 3D SOTN2... because both Lament and Curse were showcases of what could be the most amazing game ever.

I enjoyed Alias. It was strange how everyone you bumped into knew martial arts, even a janitor you finds you hiding in the cleaning cubard would suddenly start doing capoeira.

Oblivion

Star Wars TFU

Rogue Galaxy - not that many said it's crap but just so-so. For me this is the best JRPG I've played. IMO this game is a lot better than all Final Fantasy.

Enter the Matrix - must play IMO.

Well, I must ask you where you get your feedback about those games, because all of them are highly lauded within their respective game-demographics.

From what I gather the only people who said that game was crap was the critics and reviewers. Players who just pick up the game and played it without reading a review where more interested in how fun and different the game was, and not all the little things that apprantly spoilt it like "That rock shouldn't roll down that hill so fast" or "Picking up weapons is too faffy" and "Mimi Rogers boobs aren't big enough".

Well, it was more just underappreciated than people calling it crap, but The Legend of Heroes trilogy for PSP. Three amazing games with awesome stories and characters that true RPG fans would enjoy if they are not put off by all the reviewers who only care about how innovative they think games should be. The person who reviewed Song of the Ocean obviously didn't even play it halfway :/

Morrowind. It did get good ratings but it seems very few gamers I have run into like it, aside me.SEANMCAD
I don't know where you got that impression as there are a lot of people that love Morrowind, and I've yet to meet anyone that thought it was crap and had the sense to give reasons rather than just pointless flaming/trolling,

Dark Sector

Golden Axe: Beast Rider

Mushroom Men

Bullet Witch

Blue Dragon

I quite like Bullet Witch and Dark Sector but Golden Axe: Beast Rider?! What did you like about that game? I played it on my game rentals and the Gamespot review was pretty accurate, it was so avarage and lacking in 'umph'.

Spore: A lot of people say that this game is terrible and that it doesn't even deserve an 8. I disagree. Everybody says that they hate it because its simple and because its too easy and repetetive, but that's sort of the point. You can sit down and just play it for 30 minutes without putting a lot of work into it and feel like you've gotten something out of it. You can just play the game for the sake of having fun for a bit, and not feel like its becoming a job. Its simple, short, and fun, and that's why I love it.

Sonic Unleashed: Well, I played the Wii version which is supposed to be the semi-decent version, but I still found this game underrated. The sense of speed is great, but I also like how they keep with the Sonic tradition and add places where you have to slow down and be precise (which it got panned for, for some reason :?), it looks good, the framerate is solid, its great. Well, at least at daytime. The Werehog is just okay...

Too Human: I actually think that this is one of my favourite console games this generation. Sure, the ranged combat was lame, but the weapon combat is good, it looks great, and I really enjoyed its Cyberpunk Norse Mythology Tale.

Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic 2: This game gets criticized a ton for being rushed, and it certainly was. The ending was half-done, there were entire planets left out of the game, and there were just a lot of story knots left tied. However, I actually think it did do a lot of things better than KotOR 1 did. There are more choices within the main storyline, and those choices actually have some changes on the way that you go through the storyline. Your relationship with your crewmates is much more detailed (as in, there are more than two of them who matter), and you can actually learn some pretty interesting stuff about them, and even change their path. I really liked the game, sure it wasn't as great and polished as KotOR, but few games are. Its still pretty damn awesome, and with more dev time, I really think it would've been the greatest game of all time.

Too Human, nothing very special but a lot of fun, especially if you're into collecting new gear. I liked the combat, the use of the right analogue stick was refreshing and i thought it was nice to not have to hit a button over and over and over.

Indeed. Aside from the ending, the game was overall better than the first. It offered far greater depth in terms of choice and actually allowed you to be morally apathetic and "grey." In the first game it was "choose to be either the angelic angel or the demonic demon," like most of BioWare's games. In this one, if you choose either of those outcomes and had Kreia in your party, she would chastise you for not making the "right" choice, which in and of itself was ambiguous. The theme they played on was that those petty "light and dark" choices were just based on the near future and effecting the present, without thinking about the larger implications. There was none of that in the first game... all it was was "save the galaxy or destroy it."

The stuff they added to the battle and cIasses was amazing. There were so many different kinds of characters you could make, you could play the game ten times and still not play the same character once... or even one similar; light, dark or grey.

Unfortunately, the last details I can find about the Team Gizka resoration project are from late 2007... so its not looking good for us actually getting a complete Sith Lords.

Rule of Rose on Playstation 2, that game was amazing on so many levels.

Obscure: The Aftermath didn't do too well either, but it wasn't nearly as horrendous as they made it out to be. I liked how it tied into the first game even if it felt forced.

Alone in the dark.

Why did everyone say that this game was so terrible? I thought the game was fun as hell. They also compared it with RE, that being terrible, but Resident Evil was fun, too. I liked it all the way to the end, which made absolutely no sense, and almost made me wanna kill myself.
