Seems like my kid is getting more into PC games and now i'm looking for more games that he can play. Atm he's playing Goat simulator that he loves, some Lego games and DoA 5.

It seems like the "sanbox" type of games is the more favourite then anything else.

She has an older brother which she plays with though there's also
Slime rancher and Pokémon, If he likes fps it adds more like halo. They also love to play my finished games like infamous and just play around with too.

I agree with npiet, you really can't go wrong with Minecraft. Everybody seems to love it, not just kids ? Plus you know it's family friendly so definitely a good choice for a 6 year od. You could maybe also check out Yooka-Laylee, Cuphead from the Microsoft store or Rocket league.

Of course there's also a whole bunch of lego games, from Star Wars to Jurassic World. When I worked in retail we were always sold out of those because that's all the children wanted their parents to buy them! Most are 7 years+ I think, but that should be fine. If you're on the lookout for sandbox type games then maybe keep your eyes out for a potential Dragon Quest Builders PC release in the future, it is quite similar to Minecraft and very fun for all ages.

A Hat in Time is the first game that springs to mind. Sandbox Platformer, on P.C. with a lot to do.

and DoA 5.

Wait. . .

Dead or Alive 5?

Not sure that's a game for a "six year old boy". You're the parent though so not my place to judge.

However I would divide into two areas in which you can take this.

If your kid likes it solely as a fighting game? Just look at fighting games on Steam. Plenty to pick and though I consider Tekken 7 an inferior Tekken game it is a Tekken on P.C. so maybe worth looking into_

And if your kid enjoys it more for the Tokugawa period themes and ninjutsu? Well then, Nioh maybe. Even For Honor. Ninja Gaiden would be my top pick but that gem isn't on P.C. And for the most part these kind of games are on console platforms.

My son grew up on a steady diet of Sonic the Hedgehog across all platforms. Sonic Adventure and most of the later sonic games are perfect for youngsters. They basically run along a predetermined path with easy enough adversaries to plow through and get to feel like they accomplished something at the end. He may never outgrow it though. My son is now 21 and still plays anything Sonic.

Had the same discussion on another forum and yes, Dead or Alive 5. Don't get it, there's bikinis on the beach, on the TV and in the city (at least in Sweden) :D Someone said "super sexual" and neither me or my son does see it that way. If you're pointing out the blood, well then there's more blood in Family guy :) I have no idea if theres another release in the US. Thanks for the concern anyway.

Wouldn't know about the US, not everyone here is American. And it was more a stab at your thread, with how you go from Lego games to Dead or Alive. Seems like a big difference in audience appeal.

Last person to complain about sexual content or violence when it's an appropriate age; however with a six year old, and one you feel the need to make a thread targeting his age group, I don't get the relevance of asking what's suitable for his age in a forum, when content control isn't an issue to you_

If gore and lewd content isn't a problem? Why not ask the boy what he wants.

Otherwise already stated Nioh, it's the same developer as Dead or Alive.

Doesn't have to be sports, just get the kids outside.

PC is probably the best platform for kids, a lot more educational or, at the very least, a lot more games of integrity, games that require critical thinking skills, and so forth. So you got him on the right foot already :D Not that there is anything wrong with consoles, you will just find your options very limited. Also, pretty much all modern education and work involves some form of computer, so it's good to get him proficient on a PC as soon as possible.

Kerbal Space Program is always a good choice, though at six years old your boy might find the concepts a little difficult. Still, you and your son might find it a great game to play together, designing spaceships and sending them into space or blowing them up :D

Minecraft is also great. Very good sandbox that could develop your kid's artistic and creative skills. There are some other minecraft-like games out there as well such as Terraria and Starbound, both of which are incredibly fun.

There are also a bunch of good city builders out there that also satisfy the whole "sandbox" thing; Cities: Skylines is arguably the best one in recent years, though SimCity 4 is still an incredibly great game that has aged really well. Anno 2070 is another good one, but it's more of an economy/micromanagement game, so there's a bit more to it than just building a city.

Team Fortress 2 is a good option if you are OK with him getting into multiplayer games. You can play at your own place, and the game has cartoonish visuals which aren't too violent, despite the gibs. I wouldn't recommend it, however, to young kids simply due to the potential for a toxic online experience. But it's your kid :D

I would avoid anything online game related where people can communicate with him. Also you could get him into stuff like the sims, or older games like theme hospital where visuals are incredible lacking and where he can use his imagination. They are also super friendly looking and great teaching type of programs.

Gog is a good place for that.

you could get him minecraft, sims, the rest of lego games, city building games, you could also emulate some nintendo games like mario or smash bros

also i don't think violent games have any effects on kids

i used to play half life and cs 1.6 when i was 4-5

by the time i was 6 i was playing gta and cod and i turned out just fine :)
