Any recommendations for local coop games I can play with a girl.

I am inviting a girl over. (she knows I am a gamer) I am gonna boot up the old SNES. Maybe try some Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Mario Kart.

On my PS4 I have Rocket League. I would like suggestions on smaller downloadable games I can pick up real quick for cheap.

Maybe Xeodrifter on the PS Store?

Or you know what would be great? Shovel Knight. It's $25, but well worth the price. It's on the PS Store, and I am currently playing it right now. The game has enough depth to it to justify the price, and is really fun. Although, beware. Shovel Knight is hard. Be prepared to redo entire levels at least few times. When you beat a level or boss though, it's really satisfying.

You're on the right track with Mario Kart. Mario Party and Mario Sports games would be good bets too. Rocket League is a maybe. Sorry, I really can't think of much on PS4 though. Is Castle Crashers on there yet?

Edit: Not really a cheap PSN game, but my wife likes the Little Big Planets.

Yeah, I also vote for Mario Kart. My wife did like Mario Bros. on Wii, though it made her kinda nervous cause it was pretty challenging, we also had lot of fun playing Rayman Raving Rabbids, in case you have Wii. I don`t think games like Zombies Ate My Neighbors will interest a girl (but who knows?), the best tactic will be to show and try (for 3-5 mins) all your games library and see what will fit her best.

PS: Who knows, maybe she`ll love something like Zelda, so be ready she`ll forget she supposed to play with you co-op )))

Ori and the Blind Forest comes to mind, Granted it's not a local Coop game but it might be something she'd want to try later on.

Has rather nice visuals and overall cuteness effect.

Nintendo games are probably your best bet.

I'd recommend Mario Kart and Mario Tennis for starters. Platformers might be worth checking out too - like Yoshi's Wooley World or Super Mario 3D World.

As for indie party games...hmm...that's trickier. Trine might be worth a look, but may be too fiddly for a non-gamer. Nidhogg is pretty excellent fun, but again...

Give one of the Super Bomberman games a try. The 2 player is a lot of fun and not hard to pick up. Mario Kart is also great, of course.
