game's popularity and sales

in gamespot.com if u select a game and go2 its main page it has a vitual page where you would see

- tracking

- add to my games

- wish list

etc.....

if a game has a high tracking n wishlist will that most likely determine the games sales? eg: halo 3 has something like 60, 00 tracking n 30,00 wishlist n it sold around 1 million copies in its 1st week.

also mgs4 has a pretty huge wishlist n ff13
