Games that gave you dreams/nightmares.

A few games through the years have crept into my dreams. Actually, several have. I'll just list a few here. If you would like to describe your dream--please do!--though I know it might be too personal.

One that got to me was Far Cry 3. For some reason one of the dream/hallucinogenic sequences in the game gave me some pretty vivid nightmares about seeing myself in a mirror with....a different face. Creepy.

Bloodborne got into my dreams before I even started playing the game. I literally dreamt of working through the levels in the first-person perspective, even though I had never seen them before.

And this might sound funny, but.......Mario Bros. 2. That game is so effing weird. It feels like a dream just playing it.

Anyone else?

I love GTA V, it's just a dream to me to see that a new opus happen on Los Santos !

Alien Isolation is the last video game dream i remember. I had that dream before the game came out, was in first person perspective & scary as hell. I was hiding from the alien like you do in the game, i remember last moments of the dream where i thought that i escaped the thing, then i suddenly heard heavy footsteps, i hid in a corner but the thing turned around, saw me & killed me in it`s usual style. I also remember this dream having a very dark & heavy atmosphere, didn`t like it.

Duke 3d. dunno why it happened. Also playing a game for long periods of time can make me dream about them.

Majora's Mask gave me a few creepy dreams, but I'd say that's about it.

I've got nothing... I'm pretty sure that some of my previous nightmares were induced by horror games but not specifically about the game itself. I like this topic though, I will check back to see what others share.

call of duty

DOOM has been in my dreams before. It was actually kind of cool. It was when I started to play Doom nearly everyday in high school. One day, I had a dream where my friends and I were all hanging out when a sudden apocalypse happened. We hid in a classroom and were terrified of what was happening. After a while, my friend and I both decided to walk out and we saw a Cyberdemon shooting rockets. Out of nowhere, we both had Super Shotguns and BFGs and started to fight back. I woke up before I ended the dream though, it was pretty sweet.

Call of duty the intense action sometimes gave me some kinda nightmares.

I had a strange dream when I was playing Halo 1. I dreamt that I was one of the marines that entered the compund where the flood came from and I remember always telling everyone that we should probably leave but they always just ignored me. Then I became an observer as everyone died.

@xanatos357: Yeah I've had some weird ones like that. I don't play COD games anymore, but there was a period of my life, somewhat unfortunately, where I dumped like 700+ hours into MW2. I was having these crazy ass dreams where I was in a match--like a real-life match, all-for-one, no less. I had to take everyone out on my own. The crazy thing was that though I was really there, at least in the dream, I was still seeing the HUD. Also, when I'd kill an opponent I'd hear a chime and numbers would pop out of his head. That observer thing you talked about would happen a lot too. All of a sudden I'd be watching others fight, like I was a ghost or something. Freakin strange.

@reduc_ab_: You spent 700+ hours into MW2? I bet you were seeing HUD while awake, let alone while dreaming :p

@alex839: Seriously. It was kind of a bad time in my life. I got ridiculously good at the game. Damn straight I was seeing stuff. I used to leave the house and look for snipers on the rooftops (kidding.....sort of).

@reduc_ab_: I'll probably go with Perfect Dark: Zero on Xbox 360, I kinda dream about being a spy working with Johanna Dark and guess what, I hated that game too.

Had plenty of dreams from playing the Myst franchise, pretty annoying ones too like trying to solve puzzles that made no sense lol.

Snake Eater appeared in at least one of mine, which seems fitting, considering the theme songs lyrics

@waffleboy22: I'm actually surprised I never dreamed about an MGS game. MGS1 back in the day got in my head in a big way.

@alex839: True. At the time I'd never seen ANYTHING like that.

I dunno games never bugged me all that much. I think its because the graphics werent as good as now :P

Bit of a cliché, but F.E.A.R (and its sequel). I'm not good with horror and Alma still occasionally visits me in my dreams. Funny enough, Dead Space was far more terrifying and I've never dreamt about that game. Maybe it's the paranormal thing that freaks me out.

Resident Evil. Weirdest dream I've ever had. I was stuck in the mansion full of Zombies and other Monsters with Doctor Who (Matt Smith's version), and we where in the basement and trying to reach the attic where the TARDIS was.

@spike6958: That sounds like an awesome dream. Mine usually aren't so fun. By the way, your signature gif is mind blowing.

Starcraft, where I am unable to micro properly and keep getting my ass kicked.
