Pre-ordering is a bad practice, in my opinion, mainly because it encourages devs to lock content behind pre-ordering. Stupid. Also, though, there is the possibility that the game might....suck. Once in a blue moon, however, I am reeealllly tempted to pre-order. I did it with Dragon Age: Inquisition; and I just, like five minutes ago, did it again with Fallout 4. I really tried not to. I really did. I held out for so long. But here, a couple days before release, I just couldn't help myself. I mean, it's freakin Fallout, damn it. Bethesda was cool enough to not lock in-game content, so that's good. They at least do pre-ordering right, with the gamer in mind.

So what game made you cave?

I don't have such a promise. I do preorders when I wanna slowly pay a game off, if I know I can't afford it all at once. I couldn't care less about the little extras here and there, honestly.

I don't have a promise to not pre-order games. If there's a game I want to pre-order, for whatever reason, then I'll do so. My two most recent pre-orders were Halo 5 and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. I could have pre-ordered Fallout 4 but I just didn't get around to it. That's ok because I'll get it this Tuesday anyway which is just a couple of days away now.

I preordered TW3. That's the only game I ever preordered and it did not disappoint. I'm tempted to preorder Fallout 4, but there's no actual benefit. With TW3 there was a discount.

I don't ever pre-order. It doesn't make any sense and it's an inherently anti-consumer practice.

I don't understand the Fallout 4 hype. It looks like a steaming piece of shit. Bethesda should've let Obsidian make another game, New Vegas was better than anything Bethesda has shat out in the last eight years.

Pre-ordering doesn't make alot of sense. But I must admit I almost caved in for the greatness that will be Fallout 4!

Haven't pre-ordered anything in quite awhile. I think the last thing I pre-ordered was Reaper of Souls expansion pack for Diablo 3.

I'm not against pre-ordering, but I rarely do it because I'd rather wait and get the game cheaper. The last game I pre-ordered was GTA V on the PS3. Before that, I would probably have to go all the way back to Fallout: New Vegas. And I may have considered pre-ordering Fallout 4 if I hadn't pre-ordered New Vegas, because I know how these games can be at launch lol. I'm sure they're different situations with Fallout 4 being a different studio with more time to work on their game, but... it's still Bethesda, and from what I know Skyrim and Fallout 3's launches weren't perfect. Anyway, I laugh at the "no pre-order" movement because pre-orders are through the roof and that's not going to stop. I think it's more about just wanting to play the game day one than getting the small, extra bullshit that sometimes comes with pre-orders.

I do not have any promise of no Pre-ordering. I will pre-order any game I want day one. I have no problem giving a game I think is worth it full price to support the developers.

The whining about pre-orders are just tiresome and happening often.

Worse yet, they have no proof to back up their claims.

The best they get is that extras are done when the game is being shipped. I don't care if the do set up a way to advertise the extra in game.

Oh, look. Another Fallout hater. Well, you have your opinion, I suppose. Fallout 4 is clearly, from the look of it thus far, a game for fans of Fallout 3. Bethesda aren't bending over backward to gain new fans, though I'm sure they will. Fine in my book. I just want to get back into the Wasteland.

Fine that you think pre-ordering is a bad practice.

I think it´s a pretty standard business practice and i have no problem in supporting the devs of the games i like or think is worth supporting.

So i do not often pre-order but when i did it was Fallout 4, GTA V , Uncharted, Beyond Two Souls.

I'm with you on this one reduc. I'm totally hype for Fallout 4 and the hype thread on system wars is real.

Now then to answer your question, none games that I could think off that made me break my promise to not pre-order anything or anything for that matter.

I preorder games when it benefits me in some way, But I don't let preorder incentives encourage poor judgement (impulse buying).

I have Resident Evil 2 Remake as my latest on pre-order, though that's along with other games that I'd want to play day-one.

Not really a fan of collector editions or other varied versions, I purely pre-order because I like certain games, and have no regrets keeping my pre-orders.

On Fallout 4, looks interesting I'll leave it at that till I give it some respectable hours killing droids and mutants xD

@RSM-HQ:

What's up RSM!

I'd say RE2 remake is a safe bet. Can't wait for it myself. Still have to play RE1 remaster, though. Backlog.

I have never preordered anything and never will. I am not impatient enough that i need to play any game on day 1. Especially not this and previous generation where huge day1 patches are the norm rather than exception. Where games are more likely broken at launch than not.

@reduc_ab_: i have never made a promise of such kind. i still like to have my fav titles on day one . the only game i stopped pre ordering is need for speed, because it is the same thing every year , there is nothing new to it, even this year need for speed was just an overly hyped game which didn't stand up to any expectations and have a ridiculous price.

@reduc_ab_: All good lol. I'd state you'll be happy with FO4. I'm not the biggest fan of previous entries but the combat in this one is really fun :)

It's a solid 7 for me so far ^_^

Best Buy made me start breaking my preorder ban. Giving an extra $10 in store credit, and always having the game available (Unlike Gamestop) has been good to me. Getting these game for $38 is hard to beat. Just ordered Fallout 4. Dang you GCU and $10 credits. You make me spend so much.

None. I preordered once, mass effect when it got ported to PC back in the day(though you could argue that preorder was not really a thing back then). But never again. No, there was nothing wrong with ME. Better safe than sorry(remember unity, arkham knight and the lot?). Biggest evil is preorder bonuses. Its not a reward for preordering, its a punishment for not, not to mention publishers play the age old game of making you think they are not gonna be available without preordering, but they show up as a microtransaction later.

BTW I am not sure what you people mean by supporting a dev by preordering. Won't you do that when you buy the game anyway?

I never made any kind of 'promise', I just think that pre-ordering is pretty much pointless nowadays. I used to be sooo paranoid that I wouldn't get a game if I didn't pre-order it, but it turns out games are not as popular as I thought they were back when I was a kid.

Nevertheless, I pre-ordered Twilight Princess HD... and that was the first game I pre-ordered since, get this - the original Twilight Princess back in 2006. LOL. I literally pre-ordered it only for the OST. I wouldn't have even bought the game if they hadn't added that, but when I finally get the never-released OST, I can justify spending that money and also getting the benefit of a remaster that won't look like crap on my Wii U.

Total war games. I honestly preorder total war 2 because of how good total war Rome was. On top of that, they marketed the game real good.

Two words, NEVER AGAIN
