The two main solutions I've read over the years are to keep the lights on and sit back further from the screen or play on a smaller TV.
Games with inconsistent framerates and/or excessive view-bob (or excessive first person movement, like Condemned) seem to be the worst culprits, although I've never had a problem with motion sickness from a game.
I had a similar feeling when I played the Mirror's Edge demo....all that shaking in first person view made me nauseatedmartialbullet
I get motion sickness from The orange box on 360, namely Half Life. I was slightly queasy with Portal, but not as bad. I don't have it with any other game, although now I think about it - Mirrors edge demo did make me feel a little odd.
Many have the same issues with the modern day FPS, it is motion sickness that is causing you to feel ill.
The FPS nowadays have this blur effect when you turn the character and this can cause some to feel ill in the long run, it makes it more realistic yes but you kinda trick the brain into thinking you're moving when you actually yourself aren't and this will collide and will make you dizzy.
You can see if there's able to take away the blur effect or you just have to take a break once in awhile.
I've been having issues with a lot of games lately, mainly FPS's. I don't know why, but for some reason FPS games have been making me sick. I'll be fine when I start to play, a few minutes later I get really hot, and then soon after I feel like I'm going to puke. I have a feeling that it's some sort of motion sickness. This is depressing because my girlfriend and I love to play FPS games together and I can't play for long periods. I was wondering if anyone had any similar issues and if they have any remedies.Ivellious07
I have the same exact problem. I have yet to find a solution to the problem other than just limiting the amount of time that I play. My biggest worry is that if 1st person games make me this nauseous, I won't be able to play virtual reality at all.

You hit the nail on the head with that one.
