Games that sell a system

There is usually one or two games that will give you a reason to buy a console. If I were to pick ONE game for each console I've owned that I would have bought the console for, it would be as thus:

Nintendo (NES): Legend of Zelda (Back in the day)

Super Nintendo: Chrono Trigger

N64: Smash Bros

Gamecube: Smash Bros Melee

Playstation: Metal Gear Solid

Playstation 2: Metal Gear Solid 3

Gameboy: Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

Gameboy Color: Legend of Zelda: Oracle of the Ages (And Seasons)

Gameboy Advance: I can honestly say... None

Nintendo DS: Same as advance :P But somehow I've owned both systems.

Why I would buy a next generation system:

Xbox 360: Resident Evil 5 (Only because that would be the only game I'm REALLY interested in even though it's also going ot be on the Playstation.)

Playstation 3: Metal Gear Solid 4

Wii: Smash Bros Brawl

How about you?

N64: Mario 64

GameCube: Super Smash Bros Melee

Wii: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Gameboy: Pokemon Red/Blue

Gameboy Advance: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire

Nintendo DS: Advance Wars: Dual Strike

Playstation: None to be honest but I liked that Crash Bandicoot game

PC: Well...there'a heap

Sorry was a bad joke, just really bored at work...

Anyways the only game that sold a system for me would be Zelda Ocarina of Time. Other then that I really didn't go after one game for a system.

Sega Genesis- Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Nintendo 64- Mario Party 3

Dreamcast- ? (I only had a demo)

Gameboy Color- Pokemon Yellow

Playstation- Metal Gear Solid

XBox- ? (Mine broke when I only had one game)

Playstation 3: Metal Gear Solid 4

Xbox 360- halo 3 and bioshock

Wii-Smash bros

Ps3-Resience

SNES: hmmmm.. nothing come to mind exc Super Castlevania IV

RE5 and SH5 are in PS3/360... then GoW 3 was announce just for PS3.. so now.. I`m getting a ps3. :P

GC: I can play these on the Wii, but Eternal Darkness.

PS1 SH1/SotN

PS2: I got it to play SH and Fatal frame series (sorry I can not pick one game, just series :P ) Thus amoung this group: FF 2 was AMAZING.

NDS (btw: none :shock: ) I got one just for the Castlevania series :D and now of course I have more games. But I bought bc of it.

GBA: Castlevania CotM.

PSP: castlevania DXC. Thx god SH:O is going to be ported. If not I would owned 2 games of PSP without a PSP or would have bought one. :lol:

Wii: I got this for the VC. But one game would have being NMH (if it turns out to be as good) If not the announcement of Fatal Frame for it. :D:D

Indeed. That's why everyone's mentioning the games that did it for them.

For me, there's no one game that will get me to buy a system. Once there are enough games that I want on a system , that's when I decide to get one.

NES: Geez, too many to pick one although at the time, seeing Super Mario Bros. was the reason I wanted one
SNES: FFVI
Genesis: Mortal Kombat/MKII
PC: Tough, tough call. I'd have to say either Doom or Starcraft, maybe WoW
N64: Zelda OOT
PlayStation: The Final Fantasy games
PS2: Another tough call since my fave PS2 game isn't an exclusive (GTA: SA) but maybe Kingdom Hearts
XBox: Knights of the Old Republic
GameCube: Metroid Prime or SSBM
Wii: Galaxy although Brawl could change that
PS3: Nothing yet.
XBox360: Am buying one in the coming days actually and will be purchasing Bioshock, COD4, and maybe Mass Effect to go with it.

I always buy with plans of playing the best games in that system's library but those would be my picks

360: Oblivion

Current PC: EQ2, althought it should have been CoH, I am not always wise.

Next PC: A MMO I will want to play badly, unsure which one. Dark Messiah of M&M is the only game in the pile: To retry with a new computer (current computer was able to run it, it was just not enjoyable with the "lag"). But it needs more then titles I am more or less interested in playing...so a future MMO is most likely going to give me that reason. I was expecting to change my computer last year, but...this one is a surviver! Awaiting a game for that change, as this one is perfect for browsing Gamespot and reading on games anyway...or to play CoV.

My last PC: Baldur's Gate.

Xbox: KotOR

PS2: None...I did enjoy a few titles, Champions of Norrath is my foundest memory of the system.

DS: None...Advance Wars is neat, but I didn't buy the DS for Advance Wars, I buy the DS for some reasons and find Advance Wars.

Yeah that's how I am when there's enough games that I want to play that's when I get a console.

I bought my n64 because a final fantasy game was announced, i had a great time with ocarina of time and mario 64 thought.
