Games that you actually want remakes of

What games, if any, do you guys think should be rereleased/remade?

I think Ubisoft should remake Beyond Good and Evil for the Wii. I just recently finished another playthrough of that game on my GC (I was one of a small number of people to get the GC version). It feels like a classic game that doesn't have a definitive version. The camera controls would work great with the Wii pointer, and even just widescreen+progressive scan+a smoother framerate+LESS LOAD TIMES would help the game greatly. The Wii also obviously has much more storage available than the old memory cards allowed, so you could take more photos for the album. It would also help Ubisoft increase interest in the sequel, if that ever happens. Part of the reason that the game failed to sell well originally was the odd desparities between the different versions:

-PS2 and Xbox were just stereo audio, but the GC inexplicably had prologic 2

-GC had much better water reflections going on, but no p-scan and no true 16:9 widescreen

-if I remember right the PC version had audio glitches when it first came out, which gave it a bad reputation even after the patch came out. Also a dual analogue-stick USB controller is mandatory for playing that sort of thing on the PC, IMO.

If they rereleased it now in one version on the Wii with a budget price it would probably reach a much larger audience. I'd probably buy it, if just as an excuse to play it through again.

edit: when I said "camera controls" I was talking about the actual film camera in the game, not the third-person perspective of the player.

Baldur's Gate series updated to 4th Edition rules (this will make it play similarly to Dragon Age, I think. 3.5 has been done to death, although it's my personal favorite DnD edition).

Jedi Knight I and II remade in a new engine. Think of the possibilities! As long as the saber combat does not degenerate to that of SWTFU.

007: Goldeneye. Also the original Metal Gear Solid would be a lot of fun with updated graphics and sound.

Oh man there are so many games that I want remakes for this generation of video games. But here are some.

Definitely the Final Fantasy series. The games I want to see the most is Final Fantasy 3/6 from the SNES. Definitely 7 and 8 too.

Parasite Eve series would be great too but someone mention it earlier.

Secret of Mana. Oh yeah!

Xenogears. This was great too.

Funny I mention mostly Squaresoft games or should I say Square Enix. Might as well redo all the Square Enix Game. Oh yeah I can't forget this one too.

Earthbound. Yeah Baby!

But the one I want to see the most on this list if Final Fantasy 6/7/8. My three favorite FF. I would definitely pay them $100 for it too.

I would love to see an updated remake of Theme Hospital. I've never had such a good time with a simulator game before. Before my PS2 went belly up I used to still pop it in once in a while and play through it. Good stuff.

Isn't MGS pretty much the same as Metal Gear 2 in terms of set pieces? You even get the elevator scene with the invisible dudes apparently.

I would like a remake of Shenmue. I think it was far ahead of it's time, and could take advantage of the systems we have today. If they market it well, then it could actually sell this time. Maybe we could even get part three.

I've got to say that threads like this always leave me scratching my head at why people wantcertain games remade. Mainly because most people just want a beefed up graphical/audio version of the original, which I don't believe in.

Personally I would like to see broken games that failed remade into great games. For example Daikatana, ET, newSonicandany Superman video game because these games were all awful to begin with.

Just my opinion.

road rash, and stranglehold, i know, it's too early for the game to get a remake, but the game did show promise, but ended up lousy.

Indigo Prophecy,mainly so that the developers have a chance to fix the disastrous ending.

I just realized that when I played MGS for the first time. There are some fights that could be considered as remake from metal gear 2, but in 3D. :lol:

It would be cool to have a remake of Blast Corps (originally on N64).
