Dead to Rights 2 comes to mind.
Dragoon/ Drakengard 3 comes to mind_
Ugly game that runs like garbage, level design consists of boxes and more boxes, and some of the worst combat that can be found in a hack n' slasher, even the dragon riding from previous games are ditched for an airstrike move. Classic Taro san writing though, misleading and disturbing. Much like NieR, 1 and 3 could do with remakes.
Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2
I played the demo which was a pretty solid experience. The story was great. However the full game bits and especially the stealth scenes just lost me. It became too convoluted and not as fun.
Deus ex hr
How exactly is HR generic? It's one of the best immersive sims of the past decade. Atmosphere and OST are unique, the (conspiracy theory based) story is intriguing, and gameplay is varied and empowering player agency albeit with an unbalanced focus on stealth.
Tabula Rasa
OK MMO, great intro movie. Also one of the finest video game babes of all time.

The gunplay wan't anything we haven't seen before and neither was the (boring) stealth.
I guess if it was your first Deus Ex game then it might have been less disappointing but (for me) after playing the original Deus Ex, HR just felt predictable and watered down.
And the music was probably better in the original game also.
I just realized Bioware Starwars MMO existed. Man those trailers were awesome. Remember this below? The cinamtography, the awesome soundtracks, choreographed fight scenes and force powers, Amazing
Too bad the gameplay itself was busted.
I still find it kinda funny that the Dead Island trailer got people excited for/interested in the game when it was just an emotional cinematic trailer that ultimately wasn't even close to the game's actual tone.
I guess I did enjoy the game well enough but its general consensus is mediocre overall.
@johnd13: I too really liked Human Revolution. It has problems such as constant copy and paste areas, weak objectives, and the whole boss issue.
Other than that found it to be a fantastic modern take to the OG Deus Ex. And really just a game would recommend anyone to give a chance, it's a much better game than Cyber Punk, which many thought would take the DE mantle.
@robbie23: My only real issue with Mankind Divided was the incomplete story. Terrible decision from Square Enix, especially if you consider the fact that they're not planning to release "part 2" anytime soon. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the game and thought it was a solid sequel though not as special as HR.
@RSM-HQ: Now that I think about it Cyberpunk is not a bad answer to the OP...
Just an easy punching bag at this point that's probably why no one bothers.
It's more interesting to think about the disasters we all forgot about, than the recent failure everyone knows about.
