What I want to know is games you couldnt finish for a reason other than they were bad/you didnt like them. Maybe they were too difficult? Maybe they were too scary? Give me some reasons.

Mine are:

Dead Space - I got to chapter 10 and I was just afraid to go on lol. I am planning to restart though, with the intention of finishing it

Fatal Frame II - this game scares me ****less. Plus I want to change the controls when in camera mode so that I can swap the stick control. It's jarring the way it is now (right stick for movement, left stick for camera aiming when in first person mode which is the opposite of standard FPS controls).

Resident Evil Remake - the controls were difficult to grasp, but more than that, the limited saves. I am a save junkie (I save usually two or three times more than other people do) because I fear losing progress. The idea of limited saves pissed me off, but if someone could ever give me a diffinitive number of ink ribbons you find in the game, I might give it another try

Resident Evil 4 - this one actually shouldnt be on my list, but I am putting it up there because it took me two years to beat it. For some reason, I would reach the first island level, and just not want to go on. Now that I have, I have completed the game yet again, and plan to start yet another play through either tonight or tomorrow

Ninja Gaiden Sigma - such a challenging game, and also I did a stupid thing and looked at the chapters to come. Now I am scared of all those boss battles. However, I think I am going to restart the game in Ninja Dog mode so I can beat it once, and then beat it again on a higher difficulty.

Silent Hill 3 - I dunno, this game just kind of didnt grow on me. After I beat Silent Hill 2, this game just seemed to fall short, but I plan to give it another go soon.

and last but not least Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil - these games just freaked me out. Having to switch between my flashlight and my gun was freaky, and at times kind of annoying. It's just a hard game in my opinion. Not sure if I will ever get back to it.

So what about you guys?

I never finished Doom 3 because I just didn't like it. I also never finished Super Paper Mario, I just lost interest after a while.

True Crime : Streets of L.A. - The last fight with the chinese general is murder. Silent Hill 4 - I found the game dull and even more confusing then a normal Silent Hill game. Fallout 2 - I always run out of time when looking for the G.E.C.K. To save the tribe home village.

Jak and Daxter, the first game. I played that game first, but then got Jak II and Jak III later on and totally forgot about the first one. Then when i went back to play the first one, it seemed really boring compared to the newer ones.

Never finished Radiata Stories or Tales of Legendia because the final bosses were too hard. In Radiata's case, I would have been grinding for years before I could hope to beat him.

I haven't played MP3 in forever. I'm on the ship where you need the power cells and now I have to go backtrack to find them all.

Far Cry - I absolutely hate the mutant levels. I have nothing against mutants in general but the mutants in FC are unbearable to me. Ninja Gaiden (NES) - Absolutely impossible. Same goes for Contras without cheating.

I couldn't play this one either as I could never get used to the controls. From what I did play, the game was like a sci-fi version of Zelda in first person. You would find places that you can't get into because you don't have the ability yet... and would have to memorize where all these places were so that you could come back later when you were equipped to get through... My memory sucks and I just can't play this kind of game.

Final Fantasy X-2 - I am pretty sure I got pretty close to the end but I just didn't want to play it anymore

Starcraft Brood War - I'm horrible at RTS and the very last stage of that game is very hard. I haven't ever been able to beat it

I'll admit, I've got a bad habit for not finishing games. It's like I reach the very last hour of gameplay, and BAM, all my interest in the game is gone and I never play the single player again. The ones I can remember now are:

Mario Kart DS: I put HUNDREDS, and I mean literally hundreds, of hours into this game online. I never completely beat it after unlocking mirror mode.

Call of Duty 2 (Xbox 360): I'm on the final level, but I just don't feel like playing anymore.

Phoenix Wright (DS): I love this game so much, but on the final level one day I couldn't figure out what to do so I stopped playing. Now I've since forgotten most of the story involved with the case, so I'd have to restart the whole case which I don't want to do.

Phoenix Wright Justice for All (DS): I thought the second case was spectacular, but then stopped in the middle of the third case because I'm finding it boring.

Midnight Club Los Angeles (Xbox 360): It was a very fun game in the beginning, but then after a while I got really bored of it, and thought the cars handled to "slippery." Sold it just yesterday.

Call of Duty 3 (Wii): Just didn't like the game at all, and sold it soon after.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz (Wii): Once again, got bored of it before it finished. Sold...

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCB): I nearly finished the game, but felt all the sailing and such was getting tedious. Then, I found I had to go through some ridiculous thing where I had to kill a zillion enemies, and gave up.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (PC): I don't know, I'm on the last mission and just stopped, then played online for dozens of hourse (so considering I bought the game for only a couple buck I definitely got my money's worth).

Metroid Prime (GCB): After I figured out how much backtracking I was in for in the middle of the game... well I just gave up. I have pretty much explored every area though, and it's funny that after a while you end up knowing every single detail of the maps. I bet I could still navigate through it easily.

There are probably others, but I already feel embarrassed enough with my list as it is. Usually I don't lose much money since I just resell games, but this is just a problem of mine. I mean, I have beaten lots of games fully, including The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess which took 50 hours for me to beat, Mario Galaxy (yes including the "extra"), Mario Sunshine, COD4, and so on. But I have a tendency to stop playing when even slightly bored of the game and never coming back.

FFVII. Could never get into the game and got kind of bored with it. Maybe it was because I came onto the FF scene late, but the game just never interested me much.

X-Com: Terror from the Deep - Its freakishly hard.

Starflight - Its freakishly hard.

Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb - There is a level near the end that requires you to jump over some hidden pits while being chased by a tank. Your jumps must be timed perfectly and a land perferctly. If you're even slightly off you fail. I despise these kinds of puzzles.

Simpon's Hit and Run - Grandpa's jeep is junk.

Super Mario 64 (too boring due to lack of difficulty)

Zelda: Ocarina of Time (ditto)

Tokobot Plus (way too buggy and unpolished for its own good)

Shadow of the Colossus (the camera gave me a headache)

True Crime : Streets of L.A. - The last fight with the chinese general is murder.Treflis

Hahahahahaha agreed. I beat it the other (2?) ways, but that chinese dude is like Bruce Lee reincarnated.

True Crime : New York City - I really did not like this sequel, mainly because I felt that all of the little added features were just gimmicks and didn't really help add anything new to the game.

Marvel : Ultimate Alliance - To be honest, I only played this game for achievements because it came with my 360. After my game refused to give me any achievements for beating Enchantress and Executioner and beating Ysmir, I shut it off and haven't taken it out of the case since.

Viva Piñata - Though it's not exactly possible to "beat" this game, I stopped playing after I once again fulfilled the requirements for an achievement and was not rewarded with the 20G.

Silent Hill 2; I've picked it up several times and never finish it; I either get stuck or get bored. Almost all of the GTA games I have never finished; some of the missions become more tedious than fun. I haven't finished a lot of my Nintendo games; don't ask me why because I just get distracted by other games.

My thoughts on some that have already been posted...

You guys who havn't finished Silent Hill 2 and 3 are missing out, they are some of the greatest games ever made and would be near the top of my top 10 list if I ever made one (I really should make one...). I have finished Silent Hill 2 34 times and Silent Hill 3 37 times. I will be replaying them again shortly, they never get old.

Top Spin 3? I just got Top Spin 2...

Super Mario 64 is a great game, you should at least get the minimum number of stars and finish the last Bowser.

The last game that I couldn't finish was Genji: Days of the Blade. I am in a situation where I basically have half of a health bar and need to take on an entire army... Maybe if I made multiple saves this wouldn't happen. Also, the game is so painfully mediocre I really don't feel like restarting. Maybe in a few years eh?

Top Spin 2 or 3 for Playstation 2 - too friggin difficult! Horrible controls create frustration. Never completed a Guitar Hero game - catchy songs didn't mask the dull gameplay. DDR is more fun. The only game I ever completed on Playstation was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. As someone stated, I lose interest in games and never find enough interest to travel back. Also after playing 5-6 hours if I don't feel I've accomplished enough or the story lacks interest, I discontinue.

Burnout - Im not a big fan of realistic racing games and I only got it because it was 5 pounds. Neadless to say I hated it from the start and struggled on untill I got the B licence and gave up.

So far its the only one this generation (Out of about 25 athlough I havn't finished LBP or Resistance 2 yet I only got them for Christmas and have exams starting Wedensday and have no time to play them atm). But I mean on my ps1/2 N64 SNES and Gamecube there where a fair few games i didn't finish due to them being to complex for my age.

Oblivion - Just too many side quests and eventually got bored. Might start trying to finish it soon. Any of the Final Fantasy games - Just too long and I lose interest. Plus you have to spend too much time leveling up.

Assassin's Creed - Stopped playing it after about mid-memory block 4 to play some new games, didn't even come back to it until recently. I manage to finish up memory block 4 and do some of 5 but I had bought Fallout 3 about a day earlier and just couldn't enjoy AC at all with it sitting next to me. Doubt I'll end up going back to it as F3 will last a longwhile.

Oblivion: Shivering Isles - Watched various people complete it and played a couple of hours of it before I even started it on my own profile, the slow pace at the beginning of SI just results in me getting bored too quickly and messing around. I hope to finish it at some point though.

FFVII - I actually haven't finished it.. gotten to Sephiroth twice and lost after countless tries (Seriously who blows up the universe and rebuilds it just to do it again 10X!?), no doubt due to not levelling enough. I just can't start it again, everytime I look back and think about going through all three discs again it just feels grueling and tedious.

There was a Lufia game on the GBA I never finished. I got somewhat far, but got REALLY lost, and then I just ;ost interest in it.

Wild Arms XF on the PSP, I just couldn't get into the gameplay.

Earthbound, i never beat this game myself, I just got really lost at one point, started playing other games and never went back to it.I've seen my older brother go through the later parts of the game, though, and saw him fight Giygas, so I got a genral idea of the whole game. :P

For a game that's as light hearted as Earthbound....Giygas was a very disturbing final boss.
