Halo 3. I had a terrible disk scratch accident with my xbox. My 360 turned into a garbage disposal machine it seemed.... A few campaign levels didn't work anymore so.

GTA4 one on my 360 and the other on my PS3. Just love the game that much, it was only 20$ to pick up the second copy, and I didn't have the full box and manual the first time I got it.

None. Games are expensive enough as they are. I would never intentionally pay for a (functional) game more than once. People are dying of hunger in this world, and others are buying video games in duplicate? Crazy!

...May I ask why? Hell having 3 copies, one for each console would just mean you love the game. But what are those other two?

Majora's Mask and Sonic Adventure 2. And Sonic Adventure DX, if buying the game and downloading on the xbox counts.

Me and My step father both got it on release date (He got it for his PS3, Me for my 360) So thats 2 already I beat it on my 360, So I wanted to go beat it on his PS3, Then I realized he had lent it to his friends 2 months before and still hadnt returned it so I bought it for the PS3 So thats 3 there For some reason my 360 copy went missing as well (I think he lent it to another friend, The other one had been returned to us about a month after I purchased it again) So I purchased it for the 360 again -___- Theres 4 copies... Then my step dad and mother divorced and he took his PS3 and moved out...Then I got my own PS3 for Christmas and purchased AC2 again for my own PS3.... Yeah, pretty crazy. I dont mind it though, Its my favorite gaming series of all time...

I bought Majora's Mask on Virtual Console because when I left for college I saw Jadusable's Haunted Cartridge thing. I had such a crazy urge to play MM and no N64. So now I have it twice.

I also have Banjo-Kazooie both on N64 and XBLA because I pre-ordered Nuts and Bolts and got the code to download it for free. And I played through the whole thing again.

I think between Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut and Sonic Gems Collection there's a few GameGear Sonic games I have two of, but I don't know if that counts.

2 copies of Bad Company 2. Got the PS3 version first then a buddy at work pestered me to get the 360 version so we could play it online. So I got the 360 version and of course, we never got around to playing it.

I easily owned around 4 copies of saints row, my 360 just loved chewing my games up and spitting it out at that time. Strangely enough, it always scratched my disc at the worst moments (got to last side-mission, disc gets scratched. Got to end of the game, disc gets scratched).

two copies of Project Gotham Racing, got it twice because I got my first copy in one of those Xbox 360 controller keypad, headset, 12 month gold membership, and game bundle, was only like $20 more than just the membership itself and included a game, headset, and keypad... then the year after that I got it again, just gave the extra game to my roommate two copies of RE5, got my first copy wouldn't read, it had a minor scratch on it I couldn't figure where it came from, thought maybe the console scratched it (did not move it!), so I got another brand new console, the RE5 LE Xbox 360, stoked because it was a Jasper chipset, anyhow, so I had two consoles, two copies of RE5, and neither copies would play on either consoles, my 1st copy loaded and played fine on my roommates console but not mine, same with the 2nd copy, tried and tried to install to HDD the game and eventually after a few tries it made it to 100% installed without crapping out, so I was able to play since it ran off the HDD, anyhow read up on it and many had this problem too, so weird, gave one extra copy to roommate though so we could play co-op have 3 copies of MGS2, and two copies of MGS3, I got MGS3 on the PS3, got the MGS3 Subsistence no problem, but wanted MGS2 Substance, which was impossible for me to find, couldn't find the MGS2: Sons of Liberty copy anywhere new, so I finally broke down when I found a beat up copy of Sons of Liberty cheap and got it, but not long after I saw a completely new copy of Sons of Liberty cheap at the GameCrazy attached to the Hollywood video my roommate worked at (guess they had a copy forever since nobody shopped there), so I picked that up to replace my trashed copy I bought used. So by then I had 1 MGS3, 2 MGS2, and when the MGS Essential Collection (1-3) was released for the PS2 I picked that up since it had MGS1, and it was only $30, and new copies of the original PS1 copy went for a hell of a lot more, so I thought it was a good buy, had a PS3 by then so I didn't have to worry about the PS1 memory card issue since it basically does that for you, so since I got the MGS1 in the trilogy that meant one more copy of both MGS2 and MGS3... but I got my copy of MGS2: Substance =P I've 2 copies of Fatal Frame II, couldn't for the life of me get a new copy of it on the PS2 though the Xbox version was in abundance, used copies on Amazon went for a lot so I resorted to getting the first used copy I could, which was all messed up and barely funcitonal, found another used copy later in much better condition and replaced my trashed one I've 2 copies of Tomb Raider Legend and 2 copies of Tomb Raider Anniversary, 1st copies of each I had on the PS2 but when I got my Xbox 360 I got the better version of both since I really liked the series 2 copies of Manhunt, I had my Xbox version still and since it was BC on the Xbox 360 I tried playing it, but the voice never worked, it was an issue with the BC patch that you couldn't hear Brian Cox's (the guy who voiced the snuff film director), so I picked up a copy to play on my PS2 2 copies of Red Dead Revolver, my Xbox copy was giving me problems on my Xbox 360 so I picked up a PS2 copy 2 copies of Indigo Prophecy, my friend had an Xbox copy so I played it a lot, but I didn't have a copy for myself and my roommates at the time didn't allow me enough game time on the TV to game so everything then was on PC, got a PC copy until my gaming PC died, when I got my PS2 and once I got my own place I picked up a copy, loved that game 2 copies of Persona 3, the original copy with the soundtrack and art book, and then I got the cheap but expanded FES version when it was released, because of the extras the original version came with I couldn't part with so I keep both on my shelf 2 copies of NHL Hitz 2003 and 2 copies of Blitz 2003, these are my favorite sports games because their arcade sports action not sports sims, and my favorite of this kind, still play them to this day, but the BC didn't work to well playing my Xbox copies on the Xbox 360, so I picked up older copies of both for the PS2, didn't run as nice as they did on the original Xbox but they're still my favorite sports games ever 2 copies of Silent Hill 3, 2 copies of Silent Hill 2, had both copies on PC sometime back, already played SH3 when it came out, picked up a new SH2 at a used bookstore for $5 but never got around to playing it before my gaming PC died, still kept my PC copies though, found both cheap used on the PS2 so I got those, couldn't find them new though Hitman Blood Money, 2 copies, my roommate who I mention worked at Hollywood went to work at Blockbuster, he got me free rentals on games so I rented Hitman Blood Money on the Xbox 360 a lot because I liked it, could never find a new copy of it though, anyhow, my roommate knew I liked that game, one day I guess they were selling their old games and he just got it for me since it was selling dirt cheap, came home and gave it to me, got my second copy though when they were selling the Hitman Collection on the PS2, I already had the better version of Blood Money but it was only $30 to get Silent Assassins and Contracts which I never played 2 copies of Destroy All Humans, originally had Xbox copy, when I got my PS2 years later picked another up since the Xbox 360 BC version was said to have issues 2 copies of F.E.A.R., had the PC version then the PC died, when I got my Xbox 360 decided to pick up F.E.A.R. on that 2 copies of Oblivion, had the PC version then the PC died, didn't get Xbox 360 version right off but waited until the GOTY edition with the expansion stuff 3 copies of Half-Life 2, had the original PC version, PC died, got the Xbox version since it was supposed to be BC on the Xbox 360, disappointed it ran like crap in BC, luckily Orange Box came out for the Xbox 360 and I got to play it, enjoyed it just like I remembered, Orange Box also included... Portal, 2 copies, the copy included in Orange Box then I got the Still Alive XBLA download for the extra content Metal Slug 3, 2 copies, had the Xbox version, downloaded the XBLA version later God of War 1 & 2, 2 copies of each (sort of), have the original PS2 copies and picked up the PS3 GOW Collection of 1 & 2 MvC2, my Xbox copy wasn't BC so I was more than willing to get the cheap XBLA release, that game is great . . ugh, I think that's it, sorry for such a lengthy post, I didn't even realize how many redundancies I had in my collection, felt it was worth looking into since someone put that question out there, now I have some idea, though I probably didn't even get everything

I have 2 copies of Flight Simulator 2004. I already had the game and while on a job, I took my desktop with me and wanted to play so I bought a second copy as I didn't have the first one with me.

Ghost Recon, when it first came out, I had asked for it for Christmas, but couldn't wait and bought a copy without telling my Ma I had bought the game so I have an unopened copy of it.

Silent Hunter III. I bought it shortly after it came out, but after having some problems, possibly due to Starforce, I uninstalled it. I bought it again off Steam during the 2009 holiday sales Steam was having.

Sim City 4, I wanted something else to play on my laptop while on the road and so bought a complete collection of it.

Two copies of Amplitude (PS2), simply because I loved the game and found a copy on clearance for a few bucks. I intended on giving it to someone, but never did.

Two copies of God of War and God of War 2, one of each on PS2 and then the PS3 collection.

Three copies of Serious Sam - First Encounter and Second Encounter. Have the originals on disc, the originals on Steam, and the remakes on Steam.

Two copies each of Tomb Raider Anniversary, Tomb Raider Legend, and Tomb Raider Underworld - PC and 360.

Two copies of Chrono Trigger - PS1 and DS.

Two copies of Burnout Paradise - PS3 and PC.

Two copies of Batman: Arkham Asylum - 360 and PC.

Three copies of Persona 3 - regular and FES on PS2, Portable on PSP.

Three copies of Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and two of IX - original PS1 discs, PC, and PSN's PS1 Classics.

Two copies of Super Mario World, Super Mario All-Stars, and Yoshi's Island - SNES, GBA, and Wii (where appropriate).

Three copies of Ocarina of Time - N64, and two Gamecube.

Two copies of Bioshock - PC and 360. Two copies of Bioshock 2 - PC and PS3.

And you know what? This list is already depressing me so I'm going to stop even though I know I could continue.

I had Dune 2 for the PC and Amiga

Same as above for Secret of Monkey Island 2, Silent Service 2

I had Road Rash 3DO followed later by the PC port.

Same as above for the very first Need For Speed

I once had FIFA 96 (SVGA) for the PC and FIFA 96 for the PSX.

Same as above for the original Tomb Raider

Right now, the only game I have with multiple copies is Need For Speed Underground for both PS2 and the PC.

Between my current PC and the Wii, the chances of the same game for both is pretty slim.

-Dead Space (PS3, 360)
-Resident Evil 4 (GCN, PS2, Wii)
-Okami (PS2, Wii)
-Gran Turismo 5: Prologue (one regular, one Japanese version) - the Japanese version I got when I worked at GameStop and it was shipped to us from corporate in a box of refurbished stuff. We technically couldn't sell it, and there was no point in sending it back because those half-wits would just ship it to some other store, so I just said it wasn't in the box when I recieved it and took it home.
-Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty - Bought it on PSN, but I am such a huge fan of the series I wanted a BD copy so I bought an import on eBay.

why would you own multiple copies of the same game? Doesn't make sense to me

We have two copies of Halo: Reach, MW2, Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto 4, and Halo 3: ODST. Before we got married, those were the games we'd play online with each other, except for GTA, I think someone left their copy here.

We also have two copies of some .hack games and Kingdom Hearts since we both had PS2's when we were younger.

For a lot of the reasons people gave in this thread?
