The Catherine trailer is insane. Speaking as a guy who has poured a ton of time into the Personas (which are made by the same team) I'm really excited about the trailer, though if I claimed I fully understood what the game is about I'd be lying.

Yeah, some truly talented developers get their ideas thrown out by a lot of publishers and then you have idiots like Konami and Square Enix that fund trash like Never Dead and Gun Loco. Gotta love this industry.
Anyway, this thread really brought attention to some games I didn't know much about. Spec Ops: The Line, Enslaved, From Dust, Black Prophecy, F1 2010 all seem worth keeping an eye on.
Also, everyone needs to check out this huge, in-depth and just plain phenomenal Guild Wars 2 demo broken up in several videos:

This type of game would usually seem more suited to a PC audience. Why did you feel the Xbox 360 and PS3 would also be good places for this game?
Bunier: The gameplay is fine for these types of console [download services] – an original game, very different from the ****c FPS games. Flower is a totally different game, so it's a good place for Dust. They're powerful machines, and we need a powerful machine to have this simulation running.
We don't want consoles to become only the land of adventure, action-adventure and first-person shooters. I personally play on Xbox 360 and PS3 more than on the PC and I'm asking for this kind of variety, as far as games are concerned. It's a bit selfish. We noticed that on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, we've got these kind of different titles, different genres that are proposed to players. So I think that on these specific platforms, for these specific players, some innovation is going to be welcome.
Do you feel that the game isn't as well suited for a disc release in stores? Why stick to digital distribution only?
Bunier: It's less expensive to make, so we can have some more risky design choices, because they're not putting however many millions on the table just to get to the level of Mass Effect 2, etc.

Ultimately, any powers you earn will come as a result of engaging in the game's main objective--the safe migration of tribes to other islands and their survival when faced with natural disasters. But it's worth pointing out that natural disasters aren't necessarily a bad thing in From Dust. That tsunami that nearly wiped out an entire village would prove useful against a massive fire that might appear later in the game. Similarly, animals you come across in the game might prove useful to the villagers, but then again, they might start attacking them too.

There's more to do in From Dust than simply alter the landscape, though. Primitive tribes call on you for protection from the elements, and to help them expand their civilization. To protect them, you must lead members to certain elemental stones, which protect them from utter destruction. A meter at the bottom of the screen counts down to a natural disaster, which turned out to be a giant tsunami in our demo.
