I was looking on gamespot and I saw that final fantasy 7 playstation 1 got a 9.5 out of 10 which I think is a low score because it was like atleast 4th generation for its time and is one of the best rpgs ever created and I also saw that final fantasy 8 got the a 9.5 and that was one of the worst rpgs ever made. Also I saw that the legend of dragoon got a 6.4 and it was a greatest hits on playstation and I played the new final fantasy 7 for psp the one that takes place before the old final fantasy and it was one of the worst games I have ever played and it was the worst rpg I have played on psp. I have played rpgs on psp that have gotten a 5 out of 10 on here and they were so much better than that game. What is up with that ****

It's called an opinion. Scores handed out by Gamespot or any other rating site aren't the absolute law. Also, just because a game made greatest hits doesn't mean it's necessarily a good game. It just means that it's sold well enough and the publisher wanted to release it at a budget price to entise more sales. See Rise to Honor on the PS2; it's regarded as a bad-average game (as noted by it's average score of 68 as noted on gamerankings and metacritic), but it made the greatest hits label.

I don't mean to mean to be rude, but your opinion sucks. =/ But then again, it's my opinion that you're opinion sucks, and since it's an opinion, it doesn't really matter on what my opinion is about your opinion huh? Same goes for Gamespot. Their opinion shouldn't matter to you, 'cause I'm sure that they don't give a flying fladoodle about yours.

And besides all of that it doesnt have anything to do with opinions the score on gamespot should be the official score not an opinionated score that is gayDoctorDoom1011

What you fail to realise is that it's not humanly possible to do a game review without any trace of opinion in it. Why else would Gamespot's score differ from IGN/Gamespy or whatever? Because it's OPINION. Once you realise that every score you have ever seen is nothing but one's personal view, then you will be able to really stop caring about what other people label on a game.

A review score by definition is the opinion of the reviewer. Not everyone is going to have the exact same opinion about a game.

That right there, is your opinion. I know MANY people who will disagree with you, and knock you out every chance they get after you saying that.

I gave Riddick a 6/10 on my review because I thought it was an overhyped, overrated snoozefest. I reviewed Operation Darkness with an 8.5/10 because I thought the game was widely overlooked and highly underappreciated. And guess what? Those are my OPINIONS! I don't make a habit of making myself look like an idiot by trying to pass off opinions as certifiable fact.

OK. If you look at the greatest and most revolutionary games in the history of video games what are they rated? highly. Opinion comes into play on the "in-between" games. For example, every website rates "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" as a great game with very high scores. The same holds true for "James Bond: Goldeneye". When it comes down to it, rating don't matter, but if all of the websites and separate "judges" of the games agree a game is fantastic, it is.
