specifically used 360 games, I think it's 10% of retail...for store credit...or something?

Once, I tried to sell my Gameboy XP system to Gamestop and they offered $4.00. I went to the EB Games in the same mall, and sold it for $50.00.

They wanted 3$ for Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas. Together.

Gamestop is a complete ripoff in general, they put used games up as new quite often.

they probably have a stock of 1,000 copies of those games... $3 seems fair..

it really depends on the game. The ones that are common and they've already got a bunch of copies, don't expect much. Games that are still really new or are really rare, expect around just under half of retail price

Don't bother trying to sell games to them. You won't get a fair value. They'll rip you off. You're much better off holding onto the game(s).

If you really want to trade in your games, you shouldn't bother with GameStop/EB.

I would suggest seeing if you can find a no name local game store. There is a used game store in my local town that has always been pretty good (depending on who was working in there at the time). Managed to get a good deal on a few of my games and when getting a faulty used game they let me replace it for free with a game that actually costed more than the original. Those kind of no name "Ma and pa" are just the way to go imo.

They like to rip you off so much because that's what they make most of their profit from. With new games, they make profit on them but a significant chunk of it goes to the publisher, developers, etc. With used games, they keep all the money they make from those sales, so the less they spend buying used games, the more money they make.

I've stopped buying used games because developers don't see a dime.

market price is where supply meets demand... on both the retail and wholesale charts... they buy it for the wholesale price because someone is willing to sell it for that price... they sell it for the retail price because someone is willing to buy it for that price... how does that make it a "ripoff"...

remember every purchase is a gamble on their part that they can later sell it for a price that will cover the cost of paying the employees, running the store, and paying the stockholders a dividend... if they lose that gamble, then they close, and everybody looses...

It seems like they used to pay a lot more. I remember getting around $100 total when I traded in some games back around when the PS2 came out.

don't buy games that your know your going to just end up selliong after you beat. people need to do more resreach, they say they trade in games because they beat them so quickly, well, then if you did some resreach, you would know the game is kindof short, and it would prolly be a better idea, just to rent it. im a collector, so i don't trade in games unless i absolutly have to, which is rarly, just don't trade games in, theres better ways to sell, try friends and stuff.

Man just go to a pawn shop, you'll get more money regardless of the game. I sold Madden 2002 for $15.

$15!!!

The only time I traded in games to Gamestop when they were doing the trade in two used 360 games for a new 360 game way back early in the lifespan of the 360.

The amount you get for the used games is minimal enough that unless someone is going to die of cancer if you dont play that new game you want its never worth it to trade them in.

Any store that buys games will rip you off, say them on Ebay or something like that.
