Today I was thinking about subscribing to a Video Game Magazine and as I
was searching google I came across Gaminformer.
I clicked on the subscribe button and it sent me to the EB website where they have a points card called
Gamestop PowerUp Rewards Pro it comes with a 12 month subscription to GameInformer
plus other deals that come with it.

It's 14.99$. Is it worth it?

I recently signed up for Pro. Mostly because of the Game Informer thing. They seem to be having coverage of games I want to hear about so I picked them up. But you won't get the most out of it unless you buy many used games or trade in games.

^This. I signed up for it back when they had the BF3 Game Informer and I just let the guy talk me into it. The magazines have been good so far so it's been worth it there. The best way I've taking advantage of the points system so far was when they recently had that deal going on that if you pay off certain selected games by Oct. 19th you get double the points, so I paid off BF3 and AC: Revelations, and I'm not sure how far it'll jump me in points. Mine runs out in Feburary, and I'm not even close to getting anything good with my points so far, and I've purchased quite a few games this year.

Yeah, I'd say it's definitely worth it. I'm a subscriber and PowerUp Rewards Pro member, and I'm happy. You get points when you trade in or buy games, which you can use for rewards. It's a pretty good system, and Game Informer is a pretty good magazine.

$14.95 for a 12-issue subscription to Game Informer PLUS bonus points that will obviously pay off over time?

Where do I sign?

(this message was by an insomeniac who likes magazines, not a paid employee of EB games, GameStop, or that funky place called Fries)

I did it, hasn't been a mistake thus far. Can anyone tell me though what the points you gain from being a member go to?

Yeah, it is worth it if you buy/trade games at Gamestop ever. The magazine is nice, you save 10% on used games, get more trade value, and there are ofter other special deals like mentioned. You also ear points for buying and trading games with opportuniites for bounus points. You can then spend the points in the rewards website to get different things like game mercandise (hats, t-shirts, figurines, posters, etc), xbox live/psn stuff (points, DLC, games), and coupons for $5/$10/$25 off used games or consoles. I usually use my points to get $5/$10 off when I plan to buy a used game. The items and coupons change and there is a good variety of low and high priced items really. Some of the stuff is pretty cool, but you'd have to save up points.

You go on the Power Up Rewards website and redeem them for random stuff.

Although I think there might be deadline to use them. I had over 10,000 and I was waiting for something decent to pop into the list and now I only have 4000. Interesting :P

I use to get e-mails all the time trying to get me to sign up. I finally marked them as junk mail since it is useless for me. I don;t shop at B&M stores at all.

I'd say so. You get 12 issues (a year's subscription) of Gameinformer, which is a very good magazine. You also can earn points by buying and trading in games, which then you can use to trade in for other games or even physical merchandise through the online store.
