I was sitting here thinking of the 1st time I played Mario on the NES, and how drastic things have changed in the last 25 years for videogames. The graphics, sound, gameplay, control, everything has basically gotten much better. I was thinking since they say that technology doesnt just double or add up it goes up exponentally what do you guys think the gaming consoles will be like in the year 2035? Be realistic too, dont imagine us playing our ps09 while driving a flying car, while circiling a star 2000 light years away lol. What do you think the graphics will be like, will they have it connected in your brain maybe where it totally feels realistic? I mean all that we see and hear are only electric signals from nerve impulses anyways. What do you think the graphics will be like?? I cant imagine even how good they will look next gen let alone 25 years from now. I think in maybe 15 all games will look as good as avatar did, and after that who knows lol. Anyways I was just thinking about it and wanted to see what u guys thought gaming would be like.

Home Consoles dedicated to gaming wont exist in 25 years, You'd have a more uniform multimedia device or top-box that handles music services, on demand movies, sport etc.

Games will be a service and on par with Television, implementing networks for streamed/cloud computing to handle your videogames as it bypasses hardware manufacturing into something that seems more sustainable and dynamic in steady technical advancements.

Development costs will be streamlined and easier with AI built modelling, Physics will replace any need for scenario directing with set-pieces, Ray-Tracing will be fully implemented in real-time relacing time consuming rasterised lighting and reflections.

The indie game market will stand on its two feet with browser based games and stay digital.

I would know, as I am posting from the FUTURE!, ONLIVE and STEAM are equivalent to SKYNET and CYBERDYNE ind! The world didn't end in 2012 and Bioshock Infinite ended up being released in 2014 as it ended up being an exclusive on Apples new iPlay console and only managed an 8.5 on Gamespot!.

HL3 is still not out.

Any game that have on human violent or human like will be band. All the good gaming company are gone and only Nintendo lives throwing out gimmick after gimmick out.

25 years you say? hmm Graphics - Better than real life (somehow) Open-world games - GTA 12: World Edition (using satellite imagery) Technology - A huge sphere you stand inside with rollers so you can move around while it stays on the same spot, with 4d imagery projected around you, mind control does everything, full 100.4 surround sound, wave impulses give you 'real feel' as if your touching something, smell machine for real smells I could go on forever lol

We'll be playing with interactive holograms and no longer need TVs for our consoles. And we can thank Nintendo for being the first to launch a holographic console. Then Microsoft copies the idea and adds motion feedback to the holographic images. Now you can actually feel it when someone punches you. People then start to think Nintendo might be out of the competition for good, but then people remind us Nintendo's franchises and how Mario H was the first game that fully utilized holographic gaming and how everyone else is still clueless how to implement the technology correctly. It'll be madness, but we as gamers would be the real winners.

Games with single player no longer exist. Games have very little story. Full price of a game is 100$ and an extra 50 dollars of DLC is released on day of release. Online costs a fee as does cutscenes.

Well I can imagine that games will look very realistic by then and that we will have some crazy controllers and stuff. Displays will also evolve. But that's just speculation.

The only thing that I'll venture to predict is that by then the processing power available will be such that it will be able to simulate environments with a level of complexity equal to real life, and I'm not talking just visual, but everything: A.I. just as good and resourseful as a human player and able to simulate emotions and respond intelligently when spoken to, physics and material that interact with each other as real object do, down to the smallest detail, each made of virtual molecules, not polygons. Full life size Holographic displays and projection in real 3D space should have been perfected by then.

Interactive Real HD-3D Entertainment System.

Real meaning that the 3D image is real.(Todays "3D" is actually 2D, it just tricks your brain to make an 3d image)

Interactive meaning when you touch the image it reacts.

That would be great...
