what happend to the games where you would have those WOW moments and maby shed a tear or have that feeling where u must save the princess or w/e ever where are these games ???white45e
I never cried about a game but as for saving princesses... yeah, they are still around, I just grew up.
As the gameing industry grows, it becomes increasingly corprate, games are becoming more about quantity than quality. Greed is what drives some developers and publishers(most notably EA) to create mediocre copy-cats of whatever seems to be getting the 8's, 9's and 10's, and more importantly, the money. Whether it be a game based on a movie, television show or maybe just some cookie-cutter copy of Halo, Call of Duty, Command & Conquer, Need For Speed(a series that is also becoming very stale and copied over with each increasingly inferior sequel) or Final Fantasy, so long as it makes money, who cares. Thats why I show respect to gaming icons such as CliffBleszinski, David Jaffe, Ted Price, Peter Molyneux, and Shinji Mikami, for actually taking their time to actually give us something that isen't a complete waste of time and money.

Nah, I've been gaming for more than two decades, and I'm perfectly happy with the state of affairs. It's not like horrible licensed games didn't exist in the past. Anyway, older games are never out of reach nowadays.
Ever play the Prince of Persia games? The story and character development in that series is second to none, at least for a non-RPG. And the gameplay is more old-school, difficult, trial and error stuff. You're definitely on a mission.
I know this isn't what you're talking about, but I had a "wow" moment just the other day, playing Mario Sunshine, of all things. I fell into the level where the sun is setting on the beach, and I just put the camera behind Mario's back and looked out at the water for a while. I wanted to be there.

That's the level with the hotel is it not? I havent played that game in ages.
The most recent WOW moment for me was either
A)Playing gears for the first time and blowing locusts in half witht the shotgun
Or
B)Emerging from the sewers in Oblivion and being like "Wow....I can go anywhere I want....
So I'm still hvaing Wow moments in videogames, I can see myself having more in the future with all the great games being released.

I definitely agree with you here. Too many crappy knock-offs of good games resulting in a loss of qualitative video games. Sad but true...

like first play Oot
I stillfind enjoyment in playing games. While my feeling towards games has been changing throughout the years, I can still manage to find games with wow moments and emotionally-driven moments.
I have to admit this generation has been slow on giving us some truly great games with those "wow" moments.
The Darkness maybe? Yeah I havent had an "all nighter" single player experience since God Of War 2
If you want a really good wow game then I would recommend getting Shadow of the Collossus for the ps2. That was a game that I loved every part about and it even had a moment when I shed a few tears towards the end and I was 17 when I played it.
and I gotta say that super paper mario was pretty good especially towards the end. The story kept getting better as it neared the end of the game.
I do agree that gaming is different then it used to be, but I think that is mainly because I'm older and I need a more complex story to satisfy me if I'm looking for that.
