I was playing on a 47 inch samsung until one day my little cousins came over and managed to break it while I was not home so now I am stuck using a 27 inch vizio to play my games.... It still has 1080p but I just wish I had my tv back so does gaming on a small tv effect you in any way? Well other then that gotta wait till March for my new tv.

Personally, I do not think it does. I play games on a 26 inch LED Vizio HDTV (and it can output to 1080p), and the games still look nice.

first thing, kill ur cousins
second, i play on a 27" monitor and a 48" tv, I prefer the monitor cause it's a sharper image, what with being denser, but that's because I'm sitting much closer to it, if ur still going couch-distances on a 27" though, well I gotta imagine it's alot harder on the eyes, especially with reading.

Beat the kid and then have his parents give you the money for the TV and use that money for more games and enjoy your 27" Vizio. I have the same size Vizio and have no problem with enjoying games on it.

Not really, I actually prefer playing on a small TV.

Yeah I know I was gone then I come back and they are sitting in my room and my tv is turned on with 2 large cracks on the screen..... My uncle said he would get me a new tv in march when he has the money which is okay with me because I know how tight money is these days.

To some extent, sure, but it's relatively superficial. No surround system (or external speakers of any kind) is a bigger detriment than a small TV, though, as far as I'm concerned. And I think a lot of people play console games with the built-in TV speakers.

27" is in no way small to me. I used to play games on my 13" CRT and this was up until 2007/08, and I'd bring that TV to LANs and split the screen 4 ways. It had nice colour though.

But yeah, it kind of does take away from the experience. Kind of like how I refused to watch any movies on my home theatre setup before we bought a subwoofer. There are some things you just gotta have.

Damn, I thought you meant like a 13" CRT or something. That's definitely terrible for gaming unless you're playing an old system, in which case it's okay. But modern gaming should be done on any HDTV (size is your preference, I use a 32" Sharp Aquos for gaming).

i started this gen on a $400 19 inch HDTV, it was actually a pretty decent tv, but the colors and contrast are definitely better on my 42 inch. That said, i guess sitting so close to the action did make it more of an intimate experience.

Yes it does, but even more so if you're playing amazing HD games on a standard def TV that is 9-years old :(

No. My Genesis, N64 and PS1 are all on a small TV and I don't mind.

Nah it's not that bad. What I hate though is games like Tekken 6 and Dead Rising making their text high resolution for HDTV's only. It's like they assume everyone has a 50" plasma tv. I don't and it's nearly impossible to read things on my 24" TV.

I have a similar problem with War for Cybertron. The text is so small on my TV I can barely read it.

I've always preferred small TVs. I absolutely have to see every inch of the screen at any given moment. If I have to move my eyes to the left/right/top/bottom of the screen my experience is ruined. That is one of the biggest reasons I don't enjoy watching movies at a cinema. My TV is a 22" & I seriously doubt I'd ever consider getting something bigger.

Who cares right? Gameplay remains the same. As long as you can see everything clearly, what's the problem?

I actually think smaller screens result in a much better experience (I play my games on my 22" monitor)

bigger can be more satisfying but smaller HDTVs are fine if you sit close enough, I've got my sofa parked right in front of my 32 inch HDTV it's just fine, though a 42 inch would probably be better when I need space for Wii games or when I need to stand back for the Kinect for me I find sound to be equally important, a good receiver and/or some stereo headphones can really make a difference in immersion

It depends on the person, I find a big screen means you get eye strain as you are having to focus on a larger area to capture the whole image. I use a 19" LCD screen (its a TV/screen combo for my PC, consoles and if I wanted to, TV). However this is the biggest monitor I have owned personally so take what I say with a pinch of salt as I do not really game on big screens so do not know how it affects the difference.

If laying back on a couch, big tv is better (so you can see)

If playing at a desk leaning forward, small screen is better (density)

I think distance is the main factor. If you're playing about 10 feet away from your TV then yeah, I'd say playing on a 27" would be pretty rough, but I play games on my 22" monitor and it's about 2 feet away and I think it's perfect. :)

My tv is right in front of my bed so I just hang out on my bed while I play the Smaller TV is growing on me and I agree everything looks sharper and is easier to look at.

I play on a 52" HDTV and it's just great. Can't imagine playing on anything smaller than a 42"

If you sit far away from the small TV then maybe. Size does not matter (har har). Ive had way more immersive experiances when playing on my 24in monitor than on my 47in HDTV.

If your'e used to playing on a big screen then play on a small screen of course you would not have as fun of an experience.

I enjoy games on portable as-well as big screen so it doesn't affect the fun factor for me. However I do prefer to game on my 22inch PC screen, for some reason I get eye strain when using my HDTV.
