One of them you should try is Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. The story has a good sense of humor and the battle system is awesome as well.

Oh, I see. The Super Mario Advance remakes and Sonic Advance series are good as well, if you don't mind platformers.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age = best RPG's on the system.

Fire Emblem = best strategy game on the system.

Warioware: Microgames Inc. = most original and probably the most flatout fun you'll have on the system.

Those are my suggestion. ;)

Check out the 3 Final Fantasy ports. Also, Tales of Phantasia, Riviera, and the Golden Sun Games.

^Also, I know they're not RPGs but Mega Man Zero is an incredible series.

The two Warioware games on GBA are the two best too.

My favorite RPG's on the system are:

Tales of Phantasia

Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon

i have played Final Fantasy 4 for the DS and love it, so the GBA one should be good too.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age are my fav handheld games. I just love them. They are instant classics. I also enjoy some of the Megamn Battle Network games. Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories is another incredible game. The opening cinematic will make you say, "I didn't think it was possible on the GBA!" It's just incredible that they were able to do it.

Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon

lazyathew

That's a DS title, not gba, BUT Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones are gba titles that are great. Imo, the ones on the gba are much better than Shadow Dragon.

The Classic NES Series is a good start. Pokemon of coarse, Doom is a pretty good port, and Metroid zero mission and Fusion are both good.

What is the Classic NES Series?

A series of GBA games Nintendo put out that were direct ports of classic NES games. Theres SMB, Zelda I & II, Dr. Mario (best puzzle game ever), Metroid (but that ones not worth it because the original metroid is included in Metroid: Zero Mission), etc. You can see the full list here http://www.gamespot.com/search.html?qs=classic+NES+series&om_act=convert&om_clk=search

The best GBA exclusive games are without a doubt the Metroid games: Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission, and Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. The graphics match SNES's capabilities, and the gameplay is quite in-depth. Both are action games with RPG elements and both have an emphasis on exploration and upgrading your character. The Metroid games having a sci-fi theme, and the Zelda game has a fantasy theme. Metal Slug Advance and Sonic Advance games are great portable takes on their console brethren. Metal Slug Advance plays just like the rest of the series in the same humorous run-n-gun fashion. And Sonic Advance are 2D platformer Sonic games that have an emphasis on speed. As for other games good games: Doom and Wolfenstein are great, classic, first-person shooters if you don't already have them. The Super Mario Advance series is some of the best Mario games ever created, if you don't already have them on NES or SNES. Same goes for a lot the NES Classics games: The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Castlevania, Super Mario Bros., etc. All landmark titles for the NES that were completely innovative when they came out. Heck, Super Mario Bros. is what made the NES a success to begin with. Without that title, Nintendo would probably be making games for Atari's systems stil. -Nate-
