Generally, do you think you're "good" at playing video games?

Title says all. Also this post isn't meant to offend anybody obviously. In other words...do you consider yourself a good enough gamer that most games aren't tricky for you? I'll add that this question depends on what game your playing but I guess that's why I added the "generally." Lol.

I myself am not that great. At least I don't think so. I do like things to be challenging but only to a degree.

Sometimes I just play games for the general immersion and story line. If I put more time into gaming, I'd probably become way better than I am now. Honestly, I've gotten better at playing games as I've aged. A lot of the games I played and had trouble with as a kid..they're a piece of cake now.

Scientifically, I’m better at games than most. I play on Xbox. Whether I or you agree with it or not is irrelevant. You can’t argue science.

I suck at gaming. Almost all the time I play on easy mode. There a few games that I played on harder difficulties, like Chaos mode on Tales of Graces F (which made the game easier than Easy mode due to the game level up system), or Senran Kagura franchise which is super easy even on hard mode, but that's it.

It depends on the genre, really. The more it is about thinking (strategy, rts, srpg, simulation) the better I am. The more it is about reaction (liek FPS) the worse I am. Compared to the average causual I play with local co-op, I'm usually much better. But once I go online in a CoD or BF I'm sitting at the lower 3rd.

I'm better at videogames and learn new videogames faster than everyone I know. The exception is that I have this one friend who only plays strategy games, a genre I don't enjoy, and is of course better than me at those.

So with that in mind, I'm probably pretty good. I often hear this game is super hard, or that game is impossible, and usually don't have any problem with those games myself.

I'm ok, have a few feats in games that I've noticed Users on the forums think are cool also

And even though I play competitive, and 'hard' games all the time, it's for the joy, bragging about being better than the other player(s) isn't exactly how I get my kicks in life. I play for the ride and adrenaline.

I'm pretty decent I'd say. Not as good as some of my friends, but better than most. Pick up new games quite quickly. I can complete most games on the hardest difficulty, although these days I prefer the immersion aspect rather than the grind, so would most likely now choose 'normal' difficulties.

I'm just a normal gamer guy. I can be the best or worst, but at the end of the day, I'm just a Man.

Eh, depends on a game. Would not call my self a pro by a long shot, though. But, I guess, if in multiplayer games like CS GO you killed more than you died, I guess you can call yourself at least a person who knows what he's doing.

I use to be really good at Battlefield 2 back in the day especially in the helicopter. I also use be really good at MOHAA being a sniper in MP. I have no desire anymore to compete I'm good at video games for the most part but I'm definitely past my prime.

I suck at video games! But that's okay because I rarely play them. If I could dedicate more time into them, I'm sure I would improve somewhat.

I think I'm above avarage. I always try to become at least the best out of all my friends in the games we play together. Probably because I'm really competative.

I'm pretty average I think. Never going to be at the top of the multiplayer table, but have the patience and persistence to beat tough single-player games.

So long as I'm having fun that's the main thing!

i think i have pretty solid and broad gaming skills.

the problem nowadays is i have far too many games to play. i have every system and a backlog a mile long. i move around from game to game and system to system, meaning i don't often invest the time to become really proficient at any one game. i'm like a game slut, i hop into bed for a bit of fun with one before leaving it to jump into bed with another, very rarely establishing any kind of long term relationship with them

I suppose it depends on what type of game I’m playing. I excell at RPG and Open World games. Also pretty good at driving games. Where I fail at is pure combat games I tend to get bored easily if there’s no strategy involved..

I’m happy if I’m being challenged mentally (as apposed to mentally challenged ;)) or immersed in a game..

Bad at most genres.

I'd say I'm "ok" at fighting games. About average. Certainly nowhere near high level play.

Guess it depends on what I'm playing and who all I'm being compared with. In general, I'm probably somewhere above average but nothing that remarkable. I have my weaknesses and strengths in certain genres. Some I have basically no knowledge of how to play.

Anyway, doesn't matter too much to me anymore. I play games mostly for the SP experience and mostly avoid anything competitive or super challenging.

I think I tend to learn games pretty quick and have no problem beating most games.

I would say the one area where I excel is 2d platformers, I am really good at them and tend to gravitate towards the hardest games in the genre, but drop me in a competitive FPS and I'm sure I will get my ass handed to me.

I consider myself average. I'm also not easily put off by failure. If by chance I got my butt handed back to me, I'd have a wild grin and ready to give it another go.

The only type of game that I think I'm quite good at are racing games.

Average but online is a mixed bag some games good other games not so much. To me it's more about enjoyment.

i'm ok. i generally play games on normal. in the last competitive game i played (trackmania) i would generally be in the middle of the pack. i dont really push myself to beat games on the hardest settings and i dont really play MP games.

i play for fun. if im not having fun then i stop playing.

Pretty much this. When I'm 400-500 kills in front in zombies or being on top of the leader board using only a handgun, either I'm good or everyone else sucks. I'm not pro good though.

I do consider myself good, yeah. I can work my way out of really any puzzle or gameplay snag. Difficulty is rarely an issue for me

Wow, I got a big reality check playing while Enter the Gungeon earlier. I suck so bad.

I think I'm alright at games, but hardly amazing. I would have to say that my OCD and slow pace at playing most games always makes me less likely to progress through them and complete them as quickly as most people.

It also really depends on the specific game in question.

This thread reminds me of when I claimed I was "a high level gamer" in my first thread on gsforums.

I have been considering this ridiculous comment since but would have to say I think it's about right.

Just by watching youtuber's play, I squirm in my seat, like, 'you were like 50ms off there omg".

I am crazy good at fighters, rts, fps. Good at racing. Bad at golf. I am mastering the leetest of all genres right now. The scrolling shooter.

Sometimes I stop playing games and just do a Minecraft. Or even have a nap.

I have figured out how to ride a minecart with coal, using a glitch, which catapults you along at super speed with just 1 charcoal hundreds of tiles.

This is necessary as I wanted a transport system without using powered tracks as gold is still rare.

I wish mojang could figure out how to extend his game without stupid things by actually extending the game and not making it stupid.

Definitely not but I enjoy playing them

The reflexes are no where near as sharp but on the whole I'd say I am.

I feel as I have gotten worse as I have gotten older. I remember being in middle school and high school and dominating pretty much any game. Now I still do well, but feel like I struggle more as I don't play near as much as I use to.

@Diddies: It's the opposite with me. I used to be terrible at games when I was really young. But now that I have more of an attention span I've gotten a lot better at them.

Ehhhh. Really depends on the game. I'm pretty awful at platformer games (but love them). I'm good with strategy games, puzzlers. RPGs are often hard to be bad at, but I guess I'm good at them. Pretty bad at fighting games, but prettygood with FPS

I have to be honest. I can't really be the 'games animal' - I just played Super Monaco GP for about 5 hours and only got one positive comment from my pit manager.

I will persevere though.

Your can't call yourself good at racing until you use gears.

PS. Still better than Dave Perry though because he moved his controller in the air like when you very first start playing and your brain craps out and thinks that will help you move more.

I suck at gaming but I do enjoy them. Never cared about perfects stats, dps or stuff. All I know is finishing the game and enjoying the journey.

I know for a fact that I suck at gaming its been forever since I've played but since my so is a gamer its hard for me sometimes to play with him everyday at all hours of the day. He can go on for hours and days, he tries his best to get me into the games and this is all kinds of games for the ps4, right now we are playing portal knights its a cool game I got up to level 30 but dam i didn't know there was different kinds of modes to play and to beat the bosses multiple times lol, so far i'm ok but can someone help me out on getting more involved with his gaming? i use to be a gamer when I was younger but dam my eyes hurt lmao, HELP!!! I get the good feed back when I play with him but negative feedback when I don't feel like playing. I do my best to be a gamer gf but I think I suck overall in the gaming department.

For MP I would say I am generally good. I usually have a decent k/d. I feel I can beat most games without help, although there are some games where I use a guide a lot.
