Get a new pc or iPad?

My laptop broke so I'm looking to either get a new pc or iPad, I already wanted an iPad but was never really in to mobile games although there are a few I want to play. on my laptop I rarely gamed, just did computer things like YouTube, pay bills, surf aimlessly which I should be able to do on an iPad. Anyway, considering my budget is low atm should I just get an iPad?

iPads are a nice little expensive toy but for real work (or anything, really) a laptop is much better.

Agreed. Ipads really are overpriced toys -- I actually owned an older model until it broke down recently. When it did, i said 'oh well' and decided it wasn't worth replacing. It's just a whole lot easier to work on a PC, whether that's a laptop or a desktop.
