Getting sick and tired of this..

I am an average gamer.

I play the PC, I own a Playstation 2 and I dont play it at all. I really think the new systems out now are pretty cool and all. Im not a fanboy at all, even though I love my PC I dont brag and choose one side in an argument.

Halo is on the xbox,360 and PC..

In my OPINION, I really think that the Halo games are not that good. I have Halo 1 and 2 for the PC...Honestly, The games are overhyped. Im sick and tired of seeing all of these Halo 3 ads, and mountain dew with halo on it...Kinda lame, I realize that alot of you gamers out there really love halo..

Can someone tell me why so many people love the halo games? Personally, I dont like them at all, I think there just the regular average shooter....

And meh, maybe thats why, Personally, Im not a big fan of the campaign, The mulitplayer for Halo 2 is alright, not a big fan of it

When the first Halo came out people thought it was a really new and innovative type of FPS. I guess they liked the gameplay of the first one so much they hopped the bandwagon and got the 2nd and now are waiting for the third.

All that advertising is just companies trying to capitalize on a game that has a lot of fanboys and is expected to deliver.

I enjoyed the first game a lot, the campaign was good and the multi for LANs was a blast with friends. The second one not so much. I love games that have a rich backstory, and the Halo mythos has a lot of interesting concepts. Yes, much of it is somewhat cliche, but that doesn't mean that it's bad. I do think it is overhyped, but I find myself going back to it every now and then.

And I drink the Master Chief Mountain Dew because it tastes good. :P

I can't really say why others enjoy the Halo series, but I find it fun and it keeps me occupied. Really fun with a few others playing some Multiplayer. It's all about personal feelings about it I guess.

Halo is a popular franchise and the games are solid. Some people like them (me) some people love them (lots and lots of people)and some people would rather play something else. (lots and lots of people)

And some people hate on Halo because it's popular and they like to come of as divergent and unique.

Figure out which category suits you best and move on. Because getting annoyed at what other people enjoy doesn't make one damn bit of sense.

I'm not even a huge Halo fan (I own and enjoy them but that's it) and this crap annoys me because, like you wrote, any mention of this game seems to piss people off.

I can think of many, many other games and franchises that deserve more hate than Halo.

It's the most simple thing in the world and I'm blown away by how the majority of PC gamers will NEVER get it.

We don't, or didn't have as many quality shooters for consoles when HALO:CE came out. And Halo 2 brought us great multiplayer, which for PC gamers has been around forever. Well, it hasen't for us. For CONSOLE gamers, the series is amazing. Of course we'll never be able to enjoy it because PC gamers constantly go "I don't know whats so good about Halo. There's better shooters on PC" and it will never sink in...

I don't play it much, but most people just hink it's awesome, fun, and addictive.

Okay,3 small things that made Halo awesome and then we can ditch this thread.

1. Grenades being tied to a button and not being a selectable weapon made them actually useful

2. The AI may not have been the best ever, but it was still very, very good

3. The regenerating shields made it so that no matter how low your health got, you could always have a chance of winning.

Also, you played the PC version years after the game came out. As far as FPSs go, if you don't play them right away, they're outdated. Halo probably wasn't nearly as impressive on your PC as it was an old Xbox game by that time, and one that was built around a controller and NOT the mouse.

Yeah it's good as far as consoles though, but when you throw PC gaming into the mix Halo is just...meh. "Halo 2 for Vista is a solid game that probably won't appeal to anyone who's played any recent high-profile PC shooters."-GS

The fact thatthe Vista version of Halo 2 came out three years after theXB1 version may have something to do with that review and score, yes?

And I've played plenty of FPS that can hold their own just fine with the PC.
