Admit it: If you're a red blooded manly man gamer who eats The Covenant for breakfast, teabags Arthas for lunch, and relaxes for the evening with a heaping helping of Solid Snake…then odds are your ideal woman is more Felicia Day than Brooklyn Decker. Ok fine, your ideal woman is more Felicia Day's personality in Brooklyn Decker's body.

Now personality and looks aside (because that doesn't matter right? Right!?) I think it's fair to say that most of us here would prefer a partner who gamed. Sure, maybe not extensively (like only seeing each other when the servers are down), but at least enough to enjoy the occasional game with. We want to do the things we love with the ones we love! Besides, if I'm going to sit there at the mall holding her purse while trudging between clothes racks as she looks for affordable loot, the least she can do is try.

So where does a man begin? Mario, Sonic, Portal, Rock Band, new school, old school…or on his knees begging with promises of cooking dinner, doing choirs, and offering backrubs? What's the best way to start, how do you approach it, and above all—how do you keep her gaming until Sony releases the PlayStation 103? Perhaps the question of getting a girl to game isn't one of life's great mysterious but a gaming girlfriend could be one of life's greatest treasures. So, if you've discovered this holy grail of gaming, or have converted a girl to the gaming gospel, please let me know how it happened and how you did it! Also, if a girl doesn't game is it a dealbreaker?

Dude are you looking for advice? Anywho, I have the Zombie survival guide which is considered by my social studies teacher the perfect female repellent. My gamer personality only streghtens my odds of not suceeding (with woman) according to him. Edit: I have not found any girl gamers in my community and as such do see gameing as being a barrier in the ladies veiws of me.

Gamer girls are just as self absorbed and insensitive as regular girls. You'd be a lot better off finding a nice girl and then getting her interested in gaming.

One of the main reason's girls don't game as much is because guys make such a fuss over it.

I'd rather not play video games with my girlfriend unless she's nerdy like that. ;) I'd rather game with friends, or gamer chick friends. For me personally, it's just kinda weird playing a video game with my girlfriend, who I intimately share "everything" with. And then, I'll turn around and yell in her face.. "BOOM HEADSHOT." *&%**%

Everybody would make a fuss over it if you pay more attention to the console than to your husband/spouse. Then again it would be a good recreational activity once harmony has been achieved.

I'm a girl, I game, and I like guys who game...but I wouldn't date a guy based solely off of him gaming or dump a guy who didn't. As long as he's cool with letting me do what I want to do when it comes to hobbies and passions I'm ok with letting him do what he wants to do. :P

I just yell it anyways!

@Saansilt No sir, I'm a married man…and surviving the Zombie Apocalypse is way more important than getting a girlfriend!

@Crimsader Where in the East are you from?

@Dracula68 Haha why do you have to be picking on girls ;)

weird, all girlfriends I had in the past years played some video games :S I don't think you can just make them gamers, but you might be able to show them that games aren't what they might expect them to be. There are tons of female friends that had a blast playing Singstar and Buzz here at my home and the jump to simple games like LBP or movie licensed games (best if she likes the movie) can do wonders

It makes no difference to me... I wouldn't give up gaming for a girl, but it wouldn't matter if she played or not.

Well if bumping old threads is bad and reguritating old ones is bad then it's like you can only talk about one thing one time lol.

I'm a girl who games, and I love to nerd out. But let me offer you this, however; games are fun because they are fantasy. Gamer boys obsess over games, therefore obsess over fantasy. Girls however appreciate a guy grounded in reality. Yes I would love to play the newest, hottest titles with a guy I'm involved with, but not if I find out he can't take me out or move out of his parents because he spent all his money on not just a new release but the needless strategy guide, the limited edition bundle pack, all the action figures to that game... whatever cheap plastic piece of crap the developers decide to slap their logo on knowing that nerds can't resist it. And then guys are gonna turn around and say us girls own too many accessories, p-lease!

LOL, this is a funny thread. Yeah, not sure if the OP is asking for advice or not? You can do either one: Convert a non-gamer girl into a gamer girl or find a girl that games and then develop something.

I got converted. It started with me watching my SO play GTA. He showed me he could pick up a hooker, use her and then beat her up and take her money! My jaw was on the floor, but I loved it!

We then started hunting for split screen co-op games and then I broke out on my own. I actually game more than he does now (I'm a trophy whore, if you will). I don't play COD cuz I think it sucks, but I play BFBC2 and many an evening you can here me yelling "Headshot, B!t@h!"

And all of the above is AFTER I have performed my antiquated duties of doing dishes, laundry, and making dinner, HAH!
