God of War II not in the GOTY voting list?

I just saw the highly anticipated games for 2007 here http://www.gamespot.com/best-of/?tag=hotslot;img;1

Why they did not include God of War II ? not all the game listed are next gen (Manhunt 2, Zelda and maybe orange box)

It is a shame that a big title is not even considered to be in GOTY competition!

Or maybe, like me, they just forgot that this game even came out this year. When a game comes out in January or whatever that game did, it almost feels like it should have been in last year's awards.AtomicTangerine

See, I can't even remember when I played it! I kinda almost proved my point? eh? Hello?

Odin Sphere isn't on it, Persona 3 isn't on it, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. isn't on it, The Witcher isn't on it (an 8.5 game from late 2007 doesn't get on the list while Manhunt 2 a 7.0 game does, genius)... tons of great games aren't on it. And there are also tons of games on it that really shouldn't be like Need for Speed, Manhunt 2, Hellgate: London, Tabula Rasa, etc, etc.

It is always about the holiday releases and which game is most popular among the users, not which games are actually good.foxhound_fox
