Both games have been there since ps2 came out... and now on ps3 aswell (GOW 3 will be out by March 2010)
Both have an amazing gameplay and an enjoyable storyline...
but, which is better??
This topic is locked from further discussion.
argh tough question,GOW because it hasnt had a bad game yet while DMC had DMC2 which sucked salty nuts
God of War for me, I just found that game to be better in every way possible.
The storyline was better and I prefer the violent gameplay.
Devil May Cry. Although God of War is a lot of fun, devil may cry is just so much more technical. When playing hack-n-slash games I can care less about the story, and I haven't played dmc2 (don't want to). DMC4 you have the ability to quick weapon switch/style switch mid combo.
Well, despite the fact that you have to buy a ps3 which is about 400 dollars extra to play god of war!!
Devil may cry makes a much better game, the game's fightin **** and smokin meter makes the game superb.
God of War is only better while fightin bosses, in DMC 4, u press the buster button when the boss is unconscience, while GOW, u press the button that pops up which is more entertaining and fun.
Storyline wise, God of war is too stressful to complete a small portion of the game, while DMC has 10-30(MAX) mins levels, which makes the player stuck to the game for hours!!!
well, ofcourse each gamer has his opinion...

Some-Mist
I'd probably go with Devil May Cry too.
of course God Of War is the better game...and no you don't need a PS3 to play god of war 1 or 2...and by the time god of war 3 is out, I'm sure the PS3 will have gone down in price (since they are already discussing it)....and lol at it being stressful..I think my 3 yr old daughter could beat the game on easy...
