Is it just me or was gaming a lot more excited back in the 90's? Don't get me wrong, a lot of the games coming out in the next couple months look amazing but I just miss how things use to be. Remember when the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo were going at it? Those were the good ole days. And then came N64, Sega Saturn, and Playstation. I'd give anything to relive those days. I don't know, maybe I'm saying this because I'm old and not 10 years old anymore. What do you miss about past gaming?

I doubt the innovation of the early 90s will ever be matched. It was an exciting time with new genres popping up all over the place.

YES. OH how I loved the 90s! Those were the best days. Those days were great, because all of the revolutinary (or extremely fun) games started to come out then. I dont even think i need to name any off.

in my opinion, you shouldnt name one period of time a golden age of gaming. videogames in the 90s were innovative, exciting and you couldnt wait for what they came up with next month. in the present, games have stunning graphics, amazing physics and stories, every year has its finest games and worst games. nevertheless i agree with you about how fun videogames were in the 90s, also that was when videogames were starting to rise.

The 90's were awesome. We saw Street Fighter 2 come onto the scene, as did many other legendary titles.

That being said, the games of this era are nothing short of amazing with alot more depth. Frankly, I'd rather be playing Prince of Persia, Pro Evo 09, Spiderman and Infamous than the games of the 90's.

I agree. The 90s was the time games were just games...they didnt have to look like movies, or have storylines to match...they were just games being born i think the reason I liked the 90s era of gaming. is because the games were raw.

take Unreal tournament for example. that game was violent, un pc and pure raw no holds barred gameplay... i still cant get as nearly much a kick ouyt of ut2k4 or ut3 than i did the original

Yes, late 80s to the first half of the 90s was clearly the golden age of gaming.

Look at around '93: The SNES, Nintendo's best ever console, was as it's peak, so was the Genesis, Sega's best ever console. On computers there were lots of things happening - some of the best adventure games of all time were released around this time, for one.
