Ever since that other Goldeneye game, true fans of the original have yearned for an equal Bond game. Who else thinks that a next-gen remake of the classic fps is in order?

no, what made Goldeneye so awesome is that it was on the N64, and the game was so simple. if they made another next-gen one they'd more than likely add a bunch of stuff, make it mroe realistic, and change a bunch of things that it wouldn't be the game we loved any more

I don't want to come off as a gerk but PC games had better multiplayer when Goldeneye came out. That's fine and all but the game hasn't aged very well which is why a remake wouldn't be so good unless they remade it to be much more modern.

I'd be happy if they changed nothing and just added a multiplayer

The game has an incredible single player campaign that in some ways is still better than Halo and Half-Life. The speed runs at the end of the single player game are one of the toughest and most rewarding late games in FPS history.

Have you played 007 Nightfire? I think that's the closest you'll get in terms of multiplayer. I used to play that all the time :)

love to see a sick ps3/360 remake...same time it really isn't necessary, aside from nostalgia, as halo is a fine successor. master cheif is no bond, though...

GoldenEye had its time. As someone already said, the gameplay hasn't aged that well. When the next Bond game is made, I'd like to see the gameplay continue forward than being dumbed down to remind us of a game we never really forgot to begin with.

People saying that the GAMEPLAY didn't age well kind of boggles me. That seems to be the part that is always fun to go back to (speaking of multiplayer here). I'd totally be down for a multiplayer (or SP arena style)only remake with identical gameplay, tons of options (one hit kills, weapons, point system, etc.) for either a console or PC. A simple and straightfoward FPS that I could convince my non-gaming friends to play would be totally rad :D WHO NEEDS JUMPING? :P

A remake would be awesome, but only...if they keep the game the same, only boost the graphics and sound. Why do you miss Goldeneye? its not dead...you just need to dust off your N64

At the time of N64 rare made all the best shooter games in my opinion. Perfect Dark, Goledneye, Jet Force Gemini, etc. I did hear something about a sequel to goldeneye or something like that unless it was already made.

Well, I do have the original Goldeneye and play it frequently. But, whenever I see a guard at the end of a hallway, and can't tell his feet from his hat, I think of what could be. Thanks for the webstie, but I mean a console version. It is a great game. But I think it can be made a breakthrough again.

i played it and loved it, and i still play the game and love it. multiplayer is one of the best features of the game. if anyone's retarded like me, and knows what i'm talking about, crouch fighting is the best. but i have to say, i really don't think a remake would do it justice. plus, all new games don't have bots to mess around with when u can't play with ur friends

I think a remake wouldn't hurt. Keep the same story only adding voice acting from either the same actors or sound alikes, more options, new weapons, enhance the gameplay alittle bit and add a few bonus levels here and there and there ya go.

I kinda agree with this. They would seriously mess up what made that game so terrific. Sad but true.
