Well, I am married, but I would say try some of these :)
The Nintendo Wii is a good way to bring your girl into the gaming world slowly, because of the massive amount of fun and laid back titles that are not to hard to master. Some suggestions for the Wii include.
1. Carnival Games
2. Mario and Sonic at the Summer Olympics
3. Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics
4. Mario Party 8
5. Wii Fit and all the games that are available for the board... these include games like surfing. skateboarding, and biking as well.
If your a PC gamer, you cant go wrong with just about any of the tycoon series and hidden objects, find the differences, and mystery titles. There are a lot of these kinds of titles on the DS as well.
Speaking of DS, try the Professor Layton series.
A random list here.
1. Super Mario Kart (SNES)
2. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)
3. Just about any other Mario or Sonic title outside of rpg's.
4. If you want to try her on a rpg I would say steer clear of the FF series... Instead, try the dragon warrior/quest series. I suggest Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2. It has loveable characters and a lot o excellent voice dialogue.
5. Most if not all sport titles seem to flop horribly... Maybe try an arcade style racer or stick to mario kart, vigilante 8, twisted metal, Crash racing, lego racers, or DK racing kind of games. Volleyball games seem to be ok as well... Variety sports games like on the Wii aren't to bad either.
6. Old Disney classics on the SNES and GEN are good.
7. DS is a good handheld because it has a bunch of games she might like that you can pick up relatively cheap, just in case you fail in trying at one, try another. Anyways, the availability is great and it may allow you some time to play a different game while she is busy.
8. The biggest thing is to ask her if she played any games when she was growing up... If yes, and she no longer has those titles or consoles, pick them up for her and play through the games together. You get browny points, and she is subconsciously getting back into the gaming world... and if that is what you want, then it is a win win situation. :)
I know this is the legacy forum, and I have a mixed ammount of gaming in there, so you should be able to find something she likes in this list. Good luck, I hope something I mentioned is a hit. Oh, one last thing... It is always a good idea to try and find a game series or other similar games. Good luck 8)
