My girlfreind came over today I was right in the middle of FF X, of course I couldn't just drop everything until
the next save. I finally got to the save point and she wanted to play Mario Kart DD and than Mario Party 6.

This got me thinking that I need to get more video games that she might like.

So what games do casualgamer girls like?

simple NES games are always a hit. Tetris, Super Mario 1, 2, or 3, duckhunt

My wife is not a gamer at all. But she seems to find great joy in Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. She also particularly likes Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Donkey Kong Country, and Bonk's Adventure, oh and she's obsessed with Snake.

Champions of Norrath. My wife is a casual on again-off again gamer and her and I played this game endlessly. Guitar Hero games. Mortal Kombats. I'm sticking to PS2 here since FFX is what you listed, although my wife loved that too.

When I think casual gamer, I think two things: easy and cute. For that I recommend Klonoa(PSX or the Wii port) and Klonoa 2(PS2)

Pretty much in the same boat as you are my friend. Though my wife does not like snake, she does like the wii and all those other games, though she has an obsession with New Super Mario Bros wii and Tetris....though I did get her into Fable III and she actually liked that game too.

Since we are talking legacy, my wife LOVES PLAYING eyetoy play 2. She digs the table tennis and kung2 alot. She also likes some of the "games" on eyetoy kinetic that I admit are very fun. Outside of that , the only non eyetoy game she likes is super puzzle fighter .

My girlfriend is not really a casual gamer as she keeps herself updated on the latest in gaming and she plays games every now and then, but some of her favourite games are:

- Snatcher

- Tomb Raider II

- Super Mario 64

- Diddy Kong Racing

- Super Bomberman 2

- Assassin's Creed II

Well, I am married, but I would say try some of these :)

The Nintendo Wii is a good way to bring your girl into the gaming world slowly, because of the massive amount of fun and laid back titles that are not to hard to master. Some suggestions for the Wii include.

1. Carnival Games

2. Mario and Sonic at the Summer Olympics

3. Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics

4. Mario Party 8

5. Wii Fit and all the games that are available for the board... these include games like surfing. skateboarding, and biking as well.

If your a PC gamer, you cant go wrong with just about any of the tycoon series and hidden objects, find the differences, and mystery titles. There are a lot of these kinds of titles on the DS as well.

Speaking of DS, try the Professor Layton series.

A random list here.

1. Super Mario Kart (SNES)

2. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)

3. Just about any other Mario or Sonic title outside of rpg's.

4. If you want to try her on a rpg I would say steer clear of the FF series... Instead, try the dragon warrior/quest series. I suggest Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2. It has loveable characters and a lot o excellent voice dialogue.

5. Most if not all sport titles seem to flop horribly... Maybe try an arcade style racer or stick to mario kart, vigilante 8, twisted metal, Crash racing, lego racers, or DK racing kind of games. Volleyball games seem to be ok as well... Variety sports games like on the Wii aren't to bad either.

6. Old Disney classics on the SNES and GEN are good.

7. DS is a good handheld because it has a bunch of games she might like that you can pick up relatively cheap, just in case you fail in trying at one, try another. Anyways, the availability is great and it may allow you some time to play a different game while she is busy.

8. The biggest thing is to ask her if she played any games when she was growing up... If yes, and she no longer has those titles or consoles, pick them up for her and play through the games together. You get browny points, and she is subconsciously getting back into the gaming world... and if that is what you want, then it is a win win situation. :)

I know this is the legacy forum, and I have a mixed ammount of gaming in there, so you should be able to find something she likes in this list. Good luck, I hope something I mentioned is a hit. Oh, one last thing... It is always a good idea to try and find a game series or other similar games. Good luck 8)

Well as far as casual games go you can't go wrong with most games on the Wii, Karaoke or DDR type of stuff. Kart games are also pretty neutral ground. Don't play RPGs or MMOs. I think that might give the wrong message and you wouldn't want to scare her away.

Dokapon Kingdom (Ps2/Wii), the game is a board game like type game with RPG elements like leveling up, giving your character different classes, weapons, and even differen hair styles. It sounds complicated, but it's actually very easy to understand, and it seemed like the last girlfriend I had and some chick friends liked it a lot.

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention you can basically save anytime you want, just incase she gets tired of games and wants to do something else.

To Warrior: Right on man!

To Magi: She does not like Snake?! Blasphemy!! :P

Well, I don't currently have a girlfriend, but the last one I had liked Halo 3, Mario Party, and Star Wars: Episode I Racer. (I know.. weird.)

I would say the best game to play with your girlfriend is... no wait.. nevermind...

Is it just me or is this a sausagefest?

Anyway, my wife loves/loved Dragon Quest, Dark Cloud 2, Zelda, and Final Fantasy. She also plays a bunch of obscure strategy games I have no idea what they are, Guardians of Graxia I think is one of them? She loves really great looking games that are also fun all the way through until the end (don't we all?) At any rate she's not a casual gamer.

For casual gamers, try things like Peggle, match 3, Mario Party, Sam & Max. Play on things they already like. If they're golfers, get them to try out Hot Shots Golf (even if they don't like it, it's a way to get them in front of the screen.)

Only, lets not confuse girls with casual gamers, aight?

I won't call my girlfriend a gamer, but she loves playing any of the bomberman games. I downloaded some of the bomberman games on the Wii virtual console and we plays those together, and she is surprisingly good at these games. We also play bomberman online for the dreamcast.
