• Super Mario Advance - If you haven't played the original NES and SNES release of these games, then they are must haves. There are 4 in total, and they all rock. Super Mario platforming at it's best my friend!
• The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - If you have played through a Zelda game already, then you already know this is a must have. If you haven't, then you need to experience one of the greatest action-RPG experiences in gaming. Most any Nintendo console Zelda game is incredible to play, and this entry in the series definetly doesn't disappoint.
• Metroid Fusion - 2D Metroid gaming at it's finest here. The game may be a little short in length, but what you give up in quantity you more then get back in quality. A sci-fi action game that places a high emphasis on exploration and rewards the explorere well! A very rewarding gaming experience.
• Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance: The best hack-and-slash RPG on the GBA. Dungeons and Dragons rules yet stil a real-time actio-RPG. Loads of funs and quite a few hours of dungeon crawling in this one.
• Doom II: The best first-person shooter experience you're gonna get on the GBA's graphics. Don't let that fool you, though, this is a an intense shooter!
• Metal Slug Advance - Just a fun side-scrolling shooting game where you take on a comical, macho military guy running and gunning through hordes of enemies.
• Sonic Advance 1-3 - The traditional 2d, side-scrolling, platforming Sonic the Hedgehog gaming we all loved from the Sega Genesis days. Not as good as the original 3 Sonic games on the Genesis, but still a blast to play.
• Mega Man Zero Series - Another great series in the Mega Man franchise by Capcom. Uses the basic 2D formula from other Mega Man X games, but Zero is the star in these games. Impressive graphics, and smooth gameplay, and a challenge to play through.

No one has mentioned Metroid Fusion, which is wrong, in my opinion. Awesome game.Litchie

Get the Advance Wars series also. Quite difficult but rewarding.
