I've only really played shooters online but I'd like to play more adventure games or rpgs. What are some good ones?

@pikachewbacca: dead rising 3 is a good one but it is only two player online please reply to me if you wanna talk more lol :)
@pikachewbacca: If you like MMO's I would recommend The Elder Scrolls Online. There's a little grind like all MMO's but it's pretty fun. I believe Dragon Age Inquisition has four player co-op, so you could look into that too. I would also recommend Dying Light; it's co-op and while there are some guns, most are pretty rare and you mainly use melee weapons. It's a pretty large open world game like dead island but with a parkour system that allows you to climb buildings and sprint across rooftops. It's a pretty fun game, single player or co-op.
@pikachewbacca: If your pc can handle it and if you are fine with 30 fps and random lag then you should try ARK: Survival Evovled. Its still in its early stages so there are a few bugs. It does have some FPS parts but it is more of an adventure/survival game. If you get annoyed withe multiplayer you can still play privately with your friends or by yourself. The game looks amazing but it is very hard.
Requirements-

Elder Scrolls Online no longer has a subscription, just the initial cost of the game; Star Wars: The Old Republic has gone F2P too. FFXIV Has a subscription but I've been seeing veeeery good things said about it. For online RPGs you have a massive library at your disposal, take your pick. Aside from those, there are plenty of good racers and sports games for online multiplayer.
I'm confused, are you asking about games that centre a round online multiplayer?
Elite Dangerous is a Space sim and lives in an ever evolving universe because of its updated servers. Has PvE and PvP (P.C)
More MMO RPGs than I can name, but pretty sure the Final Fantasy Realm Reborn is the talk at the moment. (PS4/P.C.)
-Unlike many however, I do not recommend the Elder Scrolls online. Had the game on P.C. subscribing for months. It's a pure cash-grab and has sullied the franchise heavily. Playing online is poorly handled, as it has huge parts that put you away from other players dubbed (solo) dungeons. And then, if your group has already done certain climate quests, they'll be removed entirely from participating with your character; until you've hunted-down, taken-on, & accomplished that particular quest. Which is never made clear on 'the' quest that did the remove, so you could be besting ten quests till your friends pop back . . . Oh, the games awful.
Dark Souls and Bloodborne are heavily dedicated to being played online. It's fun to see others jump in your world as either an ally or enemy. & you do the same (360/ PS3/ PS4/ X1/ P.C.) (PS4)
Monster Hunter is massively about local or online multiplayer. You can find a bad MMO of MH on P.C. but I'd recommend the recent games. (Wii/ 3DS)
MineCraft or Little Big Planet 2 are creation games all dedicated to community and sharing. (PS3/ 360/ PS4/ X1/ P.C.) (PS3) I don't recommend Little Big Planet 3 on PS3 or PS4 as to be honest. . . Let's just say I could write an essay with what's wrong with that game on a technical level.
Anything else I could name with online focus is either not coming to mind, or is an extra feature/ not something that's a central focus to the game.
MOBAs are quite popular, don't play them much myself these days but they are fun.
Starcraft is excellent I still go back to it occasionally
Total War COOP or PVP is fun and with it's rock, paper scissors, easy to play and understand without having to go to university.
Total War Arena is currently in open beta, it's a very limited version of the multiplayer designed for quick play, while it's not as good, it's a good starting point that wont eat up all your time trying to get into it.
