[QUOTE="The_Frederick"]Because they don't want to. It takes time and persistance, rather than any real skill or vision. A game that receives a pefect score should change the way you think about gaming as a medium, not simply be a game where you can visit brothels and carjack people.

Plenty of games spend as much time in development with skilled people, and do not end up half as good a value overall as the average GTA game. GTA4 cannot possibly be boiled down to just carjacking and brothels, those are just two things out of many. I don't much give a hoot about a game changing the way I view the hobby or whatever, it's just disposable entertainment, afterall, for my free time. I just want to be entertained, and everything I've seen from this game says it will do that, and will give me more than sixty bucks worth of it. It's fine GTA doesn't appeal to you, honestly, but you really shouldn't feel some sort of compulsion to jump to conclusions about it and put it down on these message boards. Just avoid GTA discussion, it'll die down.
If you want to present dissenting opinions on the game, at least wait until you can present some tangible ones based on some sort of solid hands on time, or even resonable second hand opinions of other people who did. Right now though, you're just making assumptions, and oversimplfying, and it's hard to make a discussion on the quality of the game out of those things.
Be that as it may, I can quite confidentely say that GTA4 does NOT have the graphics of Crysis nor the story of Bioshock. Those games are the benchmarks, and by telling us that it DOES have those things, reviews are either lying or deluded.
