GOW versus GOW

Which game franchise has been more influencial on action gaming: God of War or Gears of War?

I feel that Gears of War was more influencial because it popularized the idea of a cover system.

I think gears has been more influential in regards to what people expect from current gen graphics, and the cover system has affected quite a few shooters, but honestly they are in completly different genres thus their impacts would be felt in seperate games and therefore cannot be easily compared

the three god of war games and gears of war are four of my favorite games of all time though, I might get a PS3 just to play god of war 3 (i did buy a psp just to play Chains of Olympus) but im so excited for gears 2 that I might just wet myself

I think GOW is a very good game, but GOW takes the cake, its much more filled with action, although i havent played GOW2 and GOW2 they both look pretty good, better than the first ones but i'll say GOW is much more better for me, dont get me wrong because GOW is a good game but GOW is better IMOlegolasxbow
