Gran Turismo 5 Collector's Edition!!! (Australia / Europe)

Looks like Europe/Australia will have the opportunity to get a limited Signature Edition of GT5. Contents look amazing but I won't be forking out $300AU for it!!!

The Signature edition scores you:

• SLS AMG Obsidian Black metal box.
• A 1:43 scale die cast model -GT branded SLS AMG
• A GT leather wallet
• A Signature Edition competition entry card. This allows you to complete game challenges...and the prize? A Mercedes SLS AMG supercar. Not kidding. They're giving away one of these bad boys!! A real one!
• A GT branded USB key with Polyphony/Mercedes-Benz trailer.
• A GT branded metal key fob.
• A coffee table book featuring the cars and locations from the game.
• A 200 page Apex drivers magazine with hints on driving technique, car tuning, future technologies and more.

I'd love the opportunity to win a supercar but am not going to fork out that much money for this game. What about you? It's probably one of the best collector's editions around but will you pay for it?

Depends if they release the game before I have any liabilities. Be they study related or monetary. But I'm not a diligent student - uni work gets done as it needs to be done, no more, no less.

Also what kind of quality will the wallet be? Might be an excuse to fork out the extra $180 alone (Australian dollars).

I am very tempted with the signature edition. Here in the UK Game have it listed at £149.99 - but it's my birthday next month so gonna ask for Game vouchers from the wife and kids I reckon :lol: ( since they all game as well I expect they'll do it and me and the kids gave the wife/mum said vouchers for her birthday so she could get Lego HP when it came out so there is a precedent :) )

I'm also tempted as the contents are actually good this time around. Problem is that $300 AU for one game could be the std version plus 4 other games for me! Or a 3DS when it comes out (or near enough). I'm not a big enough GT fan to get that.

• SLS AMG Obsidian Black metal box.-Yay??? A metal box. I've always wanted one...

• A 1:43 scale die cast model -GT branded SLS AMG - I guess if you're a collector of sorts. Otherwise I don't see who would want this.

• A GT leather wallet -A wallet? Really?

• A Signature Edition competition entry card. This allows you to complete game challenges...and the prize? A Mercedes SLS AMG supercar. Not kidding. They're giving away one of these bad boys!! A real one! - Sounds nice, but I don't have a wheel and am not that good. The people that win these things are the guys with the living room rigs with the wheel and pedals and the wall chart of car tunes. I'm definetly not that guy.

• A GT branded USB key with Polyphony/Mercedes-Benz trailer.- Well everyone could use an extra usb key.

• A GT branded metal key fob. - I don't know what a fob is but it doesn't sound so great.
  

• A coffee table book featuring the cars and locations from the game.- Sounds like a wikipedia page in book form...

• A 200 page Apex drivers magazine with hints on driving technique, car tuning, future technologies and more. - That does sound useful as long as it's not skimpy stuff like "hit the brakes before you turn."

I can't see myself paying that much for this stuff. The game is a day one purchase for me though.

Nice reasoning. FYI a key fob is, basically, a keyring... probably should have just written that.

And to enter the contest you just need to buy the edition and complete the Mercedes in game tutorial. So I don't think it's particularly skill based.
