Am i the only one that thinks Grand Theft Auto 4 looks terrible.

I know its a big name game and everyone is drooling waiting for it but seriously.

It looks terrible, like a 5 year old PS2 game, jerky graphics (terrible framerate), cars that look like blocks (compared to games these days), and that stupid trying to be ghetto cool but failing badly like san andreas (i thought vice city was the best as it didnt take itselftoo seriously)

Looks fine to me. Maybe you'd get better responses in System Wars.

Its nothing to do with the system it runs on, its purely about the game and what ive seen of it so far...

Past GTAs have looked kind of cartoony. IV looks very lifelike.

i think GTAIV does look pretty lackluster when it comes to the character models. still looking forward to it but when you see a game like crackdown which imo had better character models, it disappoints you.

You might need to get some laser surgery on your eyes, either that or some prescription glasses.

All the videos of GTA IV I've seen so far was very choppy.

Also many of the gameplay didn't seem to change. It looks like I'll be doing samething I've been doing past 3 games in better looking cars.

Also it looks like it regressed a bit. So far there is no indication how you can influence on your character's look. I've heard planes are not avaliable in GTA IV, so that's a bummer as well.

Personally I really hoped GTA IV will do something unique and different. Like having female main character.

Yep, and that is why it was delayed. They're working on it, and hopefully the end product will be way better than the videos.

Wow, i can't believe you didn't like San Andreas because it wasn't 'ghetto cool' enough. What does even mean? Your argument is null and void because of your dumb opinion on GTA:SA.

Really man.. what did you expect? They are making an entire city that the system has to show a lot of at once. If you had the graphics you wanted, the FPS would render the game unplayable.

Try loading a NYC sized map into COD 4 with heaps of vehicles, peds, buildings you can look inside etc.. and you'll be playing an interactive flip-book. The games mentioned are very linear and have pretty small, inclosed areas in comparison to any GTA game.

The graphics are fantastic, if you take the scope of everything into account. They are pushing the consoles as far (if not further) than the other games mentioned. You must understand that Rockstar could make the graphics a whole lot better, but the consoles are incapable of running the game at a suitable FPS. If you're going to blame anyone, blame MS and Sony.

gameplay is way more important than what the graphics look like.

Sounds like a typical GTA game to me. The graphics didn't look too sharp in the last three, and they did alright didn't they?
