How about Halo 3? they rated it 10.0! Halo is good, don't get me wrong, but it has a FEW flaws!demonchao
A 10.0 rating does not mean perfect. It just means that at that given point and time the game is the at top of its genre. Whether you agree with that or not is another discussion...
The Sonic Adventures for Gamecube. 5s? Really now?
Just about any licensed game; regardless as to how good it is always get a few points detracted JUST for being licensed it seems. Kinda unfair if you ask me...
A review or score only reflects the opinion of the reviewer in the end. Although they can be useful and informative, reviews and scores shouldn't be given that much weight.
Urban Chaos for PS1. My only complaint is that you cannot save in-game, so if you die you have to start the level again which is a pain, especially when you die by getting far in a level and trying to jump on a horizontal slide rope, only to miss it and fall to yer death matey, arrr.
A lot of the time, I just look at the "users score" more then "GS" score, reason being that, Sure game spot is basic the largest gaming review website with tones of stuff, but at the end of the day, we as the public are the only thing that can make a game popular or not that good!lTheNESl
Too true. I always look more at the user score because as a collective I think the people usually get it right. Whether or not you will actually like the game is a different matter altogether but the good games will generally be recognised by the public.
And it got 9s at other sites...Well, Halo Wars got a 6.5 here, and I thought that was at least 7.5worthy

I dunno about that if it was true then reviews would become outdated very quick I think reviewers are either caught up in hype or pushed to give great reviews tbh
a Series that I don't agree with the score is X-Men Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. The reviewers are always comic book fans so their opinions are skewed. The story, graphics, and action are boring/bland yet all of the games get higher than an 8. I just don't get it. wackossI'm somewhat of a comic book fan, but not really into them. Personally, I agree with the reviews they games have gotten. The stories were good. The action was solid, the co-op worked great, the games were still fun with single player. The graphics were decently stylized. I don't think the comic book thing skews the review, I think it gives more background to the game. It would be like asking someone to rate Killzone who was familiar with shooters rather than asking a veteran of the Total War series to review a dungeon hack.
definetly Kirby 64, it only scored a 5 or a 6 here I believe and it is still my favorite game in the kirby series.
Sonic Heroes. I wouldn't call the game "great" but it's pretty fun to play even though it got a bad score.
Romancing SaGa for the PS2 got like a 6.5, but it is one of those games I can't stop playing. The game is non-linear, and the story is told through missions, but taking each of the 8 characters through these missions to fight the big bad Saruin at the end offers a new perspective.
I loved it. The Spot did not.

But it does say "perfect." Maybe they should change that. Also I checked and Halo3 was rocking a 9.5.
Castlevania Judgment (Wii) - GS score: 3.0; my personal score: 7.0
It sure has its share of flaws, the most significant being the irritating camera angles. But I thought online multiplayer was heaps fun, and the graphics are solid, too. So, still not a great game by definition, but 3.0? You must be kidding me...
You just gotta make sure to play this game with a GameCube controller.

Well, being at the peak at that point in time would mean pretty much perfect. It's hard to come up with a one-word description to encapsulate the score, and Perfect, while perhaps not 100% accurate, presents the idea of the quality of the game.Man The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind, maybe I am just hard core but I just didn't see how this game rated lower than 9.5.To me it was just amazing. It didn't get really bad reviews or anything but it got a lot of 7's and 8's which is ok but this is one of my favorite games of all time.
Another one is Star Wars jedi knight jedi academy It got pretty solid ratings I guess but it was the best in the series too me and when I saw the 8's and 7's on it I was like man critics really do have bad taste lol.
