Whether it be part of a cut-scene or within gameplay, a fantastic plot point or a sporting victory, a beautiful bit of art direction or an ace piece of music. There are some moments when you're playing a game, that make you sit back and think, 'wow'.
Here's some moments that have stood out for me:
Hitman: Blood Money (spoilers)
The Paris opera house: after planting a bomb in the theatre chandelier and replacing the replica gun used on stage with a real one. I watch from above as the singer is 'accidentally' shot, killing my target, then i kill the second target as he trips running to the stage by dropping the chandelier on him. As I make my way out to the street, everyone is in panic, but none have a clue it was me, with Jesper Kyd's Apocalypse theme kicking in for added impact. Oh yes!
Shadow of the Colossus (spoilers)
When you finally reach the last colossus, eagerly gallop with Agro across that bridge, suddenly your whole world collapses, you're friend is lost. The climb up to the colossus seems so dismal and lonely, reaching the top with it going dark and stormy, exagerating the feeling of doom, before the utterly amazing final battle. I never felt so sad before a big battle.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Cruising through Vice City for the first time, the sun sets, the streets filling with neon, Jon Hummer's 'Crockets Theme' starts playing on the radio....
