As you can see, this is a counter thread to the bad/annoying parts of great games thread.

My contribution pertains to an obscure PS1 RPG called Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. I've watched someone play this game and it is absolute crap. It's almost offensively easy, the combat system tries to be strategic but it is very shallow and uninteresting, it has some of the most lazy, unimaginative areas you'll ever come across in an RPG, it is girly to the max (which would not be a bad thing if the rest of the game was any good), and it showcases some really horrible music. It's just a poor RPG in general.

But in spite of that, it has some really good writing (the story in general sucks tho). The writing is humorous, fun, and has alot of enthusiasm, which is sorely lacking in many RPGs. But the actual game is just so poor. It's a shame that a fairly good game like The Legend of Dragoon has really stilted, flat writing, but this piece of crap has really energetic writing.

Anyway, what are your choices?

I enjoyed True Crime New York City very much despite the fact that it got panned by critics. I really liked the different fighting styles you could learn and combine, I loved the shooting and the cop side missions and the amount of gore the game featured was a pleasure. Another bad game I had a great time with was Star Wars Super Bombad Racing, I was really obsessed with SW at that time because of EI so I absolutely loved this game. The levels were so detailed and featured almost every significant location from EI and the original trilogy. When I was 7 I remember going to a friends house where we played Gex 3 on the PSX, I loved this game so much that after a month I went to the game store to buy it. It was sold out at that time and the shopkeeper offered me croc 2 instead, so I got that. I never really understood why this game got such negative reception, it's graphics were outstanding and the gameplay and soundtrack was top notch. The last one that comes to mind was Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. I had finished this game for over a dozen times, it had some great bosses and I really enjoyed the co-op mode that I played together with my sister

Not to be confused with underrated games. Actual games that were rubbish to me but had some good elements:

There was a lot to have fun with in the first Knight Rider game. I enjoyed the individual elements of the turbo boosting, ski mode and super pursuit. It's just the game they were wrapped up in was uninspired and not nearly action-heavy enough.

Umm that's all i can think of. Most bad games i've played have no redeeming features at all.

I used to have a friend who insisted that True Crime was better than GTA, so I played it at his house and thought it was pretty rubbish. I could see how someone could have a bit of fun with it tho.

True Crime Streets of L.A. is awesome. Not better than GTA though. True Crime New York was okay.

Funnily enough, I'm not sure which one of those my friend had. I don't really remember the game too well.

Actually New York City had better fighting and shooting than GTA and it's side missions were not the typical gta cop, taxi driver, paramedic. It also had a fight club and street racing. It was full of glitches though and it's story was rubbish, that's why it got panned

I own an unknown game called Battle Hunter.  It's a PS1 budget game by Agetec.  I really enjoyed the game for its concept and the multiplayer.  I think the game's ideas would work in a higher-quality game.

Basically, Battle Hunter involves going into randomly generated dungeons and finding a target item that a client wants.  The dungeons contain various monsters and rival hunters.  When a hunter get the target item, all of the other hunters can go after him/her and take it by force.  Once you have the item, you have to escape the dungeon, so you're never in the clear until you reach the exit.
