While other games served to scare you, Eternal Darkness scared you and drove you insane at the same time. Ooh.

i agree w/ fatal frame, it is veyr scary
i know a lot of epeople who admi they didnt finish the game because it was too scary for them.
Fatal Frame: II, III and Silent Hill: II were pretty scary. A videogame has never really scared me into not playing it.
REmakegarrett_duffman
I agree, the game was a fantastic remake and definitely one of the best horror games there is IMO.
What is remake and what systemis it on? Search didn't work.BRi4NBnot remake, REmake (Resident Evil remake)
A videogame has never really scared me into not playing it.-Water-Wings-I'm not ashamed to admit it: several games have me too scared to play them, lol.

Its Resident Evil (original game) re-made on the Gamecube. It is the quintessential survival horror game, just get used to the tank controls.
Personally, I would have been VERY happy if Capcom would have re-made RE2 on the Gamecube or Wii as well.
Hmmm... Well; there is a difference between good and scary.
The greatest Horror game GAMEPLAY wise is probably Resident Evil 4. The SCARIEST game would be one of the Fatal Frames.

I have RE0, RE1, RE2, RE3, and RE4 all on Gamecube.Doom 3, it's a good game, but playing through it for the first time scared you which actually made it fun :)
Forbidden Siren 2benleslie5Nice to see that someone else played this. Siren 2 was easily one of the PS2's best horror games.
Video games just don't scare me, because I know they're games and lives are expendable in video games. But I have enjoyed my share of Horror games. Some favorites of the genre:

Call of the Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth was pretty terrifying. Hell, I haven't even made it past the second level yet...muthsera666Stupid question: What's that game about?
I need to get Haunting Ground too. Is the sequel available in America?Fear Effect, Dead Space, Haunting Ground, Fatal Frame, Resident Evil

Fatal Frame Obscure SirenDeafNYCPlayerObscure?

I want a 360 RE2 remake.Sequel of Haunting Ground? It doesn't have one. I guess, you can say that Haunting Ground is part of the Clock Tower series, maybe?
Obscure is an out of print PS2 game. The sequel is much more available. But I've played neither.... Obscure, Obscure II. And ignore the price of Obscure II at Amazon... Hitgaming, always list them too high and for some reason Amazon has them as a featured merchant, use the "new" link instead to get a more realistic, $19.99 price tag. Obscure, however is out of print and is very hard to find, your best bet for that game is used.
New copies of Fatal Frame II, and III can be bought at gamequestdirect.com. Looks like Fatal Frame 1 is only availiable via a package deal of 100 bucks, and only for the PS2, which has less features than the Xbox version for Fatal Frame I & 2. Fatal Frame 3 was never made for the Xbox, only avaliable on the PS2. And Fatal Frame IV never made it into America, for the Wii. If it ever does... I may just buy a Wii, just to play it.
Another game that has the same flavor of Fatal Frame... at least with the chanting background music is a game called Kuon... but the gameplay pretty much sucks on it. Has the same type of clumsy gameplay as Rule of Rose. Although, the story of Rule of Rose is very deep.
Eternal Darkness for my money, Sure, the Project Zeros were pretty nerve-jangling, but ED got inside your head like no other. Also, if no-one has mentioned Call of Cthulhu I'll give that a nod.

Basically, your character is a detective, I believe, and he goes to the town of Innsmouth to find out the reason for some weird things that happened back when he was on the police force. He had been investigating a house or something, and he found something in the basement that drove him insane. Seven years later, he 'wakes up' to see that he cannot remember anything from the past seven years, which is why he ventures to Innsmouth. And, strange things happen in the city and really freaky things happen.
I think this is the basic gist, but I won't swear to it.
Original Silent Hill on PS1, i had troubles finishing that game, the last parts in the hospital were scary as ****
