Happy Birthday Sonic the Hedgehog. I'll never forget the first time I experienced that game (SEGA!) and to celebrate I think I'll play Sonic Mega Collection Plus (PS2) :)
happy birthday Sonic , I wish you 20 more years of games and Sega using your face to advertise itself :P
speaking of Sonic's face, why does he look a little weird in the US boxart?
and then they made shadow the hedgehog come back to life.Sonic 1 is still on my top 5 favourite games of all time.

Clearly Sega's "killer-app" in the war against Nintendo. And it's not hard to see why. The speed this game had was yet unseen in the platformer genre. It was also amazingly colorful and detailed for a Genesis/MD game and had a catchy soundtrack. I have to say the game looked more attractive than SMW atleast by the looks and uniqueness and speed. SMW had superior level design but it was more like SMB.4 (ironically that actually is the subtitle of the Japanese version), regardless of Yoshi.
Seems like it was just yesterday that we were celebrating his 15th birthday. Can't wait to see what the next 20 years bring.
I know a lot of people will probably get mad at me for this statement, but there is definitely a part of me that wishes Sonic never got to see his fourth birthday.

Wait, so you mean you never wanted to see Sonic 3 or Sonic & Knuckles come out? Why is that? Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles were both great releases on the Sega Genesis that totally stayed rooted to it's 2D platforming tradition laid-out in the first 2 games. And even beyond that, the GBA Sonic Advance games were good. But yeah, I'm not a fan of the 3D outings for Sonic.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the best Sonic game in my opinion. It came out when Sonic was still only three years old. Please Log In to post.
